[Termes IGN] transformation de HoughRésumé : (auteur) Forest management and planning require information regarding the current state of the forest. Remote sensing techniques allow to obtain geospatial data, also for the forestry sector. As one of the remote-sensed technologies datasets, Terrestrial Laser Scanning data is widely used to derive detailed information about tree and forest stand parameters. This article presents the combination of circular Hough transform, denoising procedure, and robust least-square circle fitting method to extract stem positions from Terrestrial Laser Scanning data. In the proposed approach, initial tree stems position was detected with circular Hough transform. Then, obtained results were denoised to exclude most non-tree trunk points and analyze three-dimensional data from laser scanning to find exact circular tree stems with a robust least-square circle fitting method. The developed algorithm is effective in obtaining the trees’ geodetic positions from laser scanning data. The results generated in this study can be used as basics for further automatic determination of tree characteristics, such as tree species, height, or crown range. In this study, 94.8% tree stems delineation was generated with a mean accuracy of 87.2%, 1.64 cm of root mean square error for stem position, and 1.15 cm for tree radius measured at ground level. The process conducted in this research can be used to detect other circle-shaped objects, such as lamps or power towers, for which obtaining dense Terrestrial Laser Scanning data is available. The detected positions of these objects can power the geographic information systems or thematic industry systems, where it is necessary to determine the geodetic object position results from legal regulations. [Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéRésumé : (auteur) Partial ambiguity resolution has been widely used in real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning to provide accurate and continuous centimeter-level positioning solutions. Current PAR methods are concerned with the exclusion of ambiguities that otherwise would result in low rate of full ambiguity resolution (FAR). With an assumption of unbiased ambiguities, the traditional PAR methods use the ambiguity-domain test statistics and probability-domain quantitative evaluation to select and validate the ambiguity subset. Consequentially, they would degrade the performance using low-cost devices in challenging environments where ambiguity biases exist, causing high probabilities of false alarm and missed detection of PAR and subsequently poor availability and accuracy of PAR. To deal with this issue, in this study, we propose a new PAR method for application in challenging environments. The proposed method consists of two major steps. First, a global navigation satellite system epoch-differencing (GED) algorithm is applied to derive a prior ambiguity solution. Second, we use a modified solution separation (SS) method with the prior ambiguity solution as an external input to obtain more accurate ambiguity test statistics. Based on a dynamic road test under environments with significant signal blockages, the performance of the proposed method is analyzed by using a low-cost GNSS receiver. The proposed method provides ambiguity test statistics with higher accuracy and can achieve 73.19% and 50.55% improvement in the accuracy and availability of the fixed solution, compared with the traditional PAR methods. Besides, the RMS of positioning errors with fixed solution are 1.03 cm, 0.70 cm, and 1.50 cm for the proposed PAR method in the east, north, and upward directions, respectively, which are 1.06 cm, 0.72 cm, and 1.35 cm for SS-based PAR, and 5.29 cm, 0.86 cm, and 5.56 cm for ILS-based PAR. The proposed PAR method achieves 90.36% fixed epochs, versus 79.06%, and 88.28%, for ILS-based PAR and SS-based PAR, respectively. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (auteur) While the recent progress on automated generalisation helped National Mapping Agencies to derive topographic maps more and more quickly, there are still practical cartographic issues that require attention. For instance, embankments are represented with line symbols showing the slope of the embankment. This paper proposes an automated algorithm called ReBankment that displaces the embankment lines from the roads and rivers that overlap the embankment symbol. ReBankment is based on a triangulation to identify neighbourhoods, and on a least squares adjustment to displace and distort the embankment line while preserving its shape. This paper also proposes how to handle complex cases and scaling issues. ReBankment is tested on real data from a 1:25k scale topographic map. [Termes IGN] voie ferréeRésumé : (auteur) Recent developments in the field of rail vehicles increased the demand for accurate and up-to-date 3D maps of rail track networks. Collision avoidance systems, semi-automated, or fully autonomous rail vehicles strongly benefit from such high quality maps. In this work, we present a fully automatic, photogrammetric method for the 3D reconstruction of rail track segments. More specifically, the center line of the rail track is reconstructed as a georeferenced and continuous 3D cubic spline. The main data inputs are collected while driving the rail vehicle along the segment: (a) images from a front-looking camera and (b) observations from a low-cost GNSS receiver. Optional data inputs can be used to increase the reconstruction accuracy, namely (c) an a priori rail track (e.g. from OpenStreetMap), (d) a digital height model (DHM), and (e) ground control points (GCPs). The rail track is estimated in post processing (offline) by a weighted least squares adjustment (LSA). The core of the LSA is the bundle adjustment of images. It is extended by additional geometric constraints which exploit the geometric relations between the rail track, the rail vehicle, and the camera trajectory. As a consequence, in contrast to many related methods, the rails need not to be visible in the images to map the rail track. We applied the method to reconstruct a 13 km long tram line in Vienna (Austria). We found that the local geometry of the track can be well reconstructed from the image sequence. However, if the low-cost GNSS receiver is used as single georeferencing source, the track shows a strong drift behavior. This drift can significantly be minimized over the entire track if the above mentioned optional data inputs are used. [Termes IGN] réseau gravimétriqueRésumé : (Auteur) A detailed discussion of the adjustment problems used to combine GNSS/levelling/gravity network data is provided in this paper. The two primary problems inherent to heterogeneous data networks, namely, parametric models that describe the datums and systematic distortions among the available data sets and stochastic models that describe the observational residuals, are described. For parametric models, a relationship between the transformation parameters and the effects of datums and systematic distortions inherent among different height data types is established based on a least squares criterion. For stochastic models, the stochastic errors in GNSS/levelling/gravity data are evaluated, and a Helmert variance component estimation approach is introduced to refine weighting models. Finally, the proposed model is applied to determine the hybrid geoid in Linyi, China. The numerical results validate the capability and effectiveness of the proposed combined adjustment technique for hybrid geoid computations, revealing an achievable external accuracy of ±1.22 cm compared with GNSS/levelling measurements, which can be increased by 0.44 cm compared with classic adjustments of GNSS/levelling/geoid height data.
