[Termes IGN] orthorectificationRésumé : (Auteur) SPOT 4 stereo data from two different orbits with B/H 0.83 of the area in South-East Poland with denivelations reaching 550 m was elaborated in IGiK. 12 GCP.s and 15 ICP.s taken from 1: 10 000 topographic maps and orbital data have been used for orientation with the use of Image Station Multisensor Triangulation SPOT. The accuracy achieved on GCP.s: RMS X = 2.2 m, RMS Y = 2.3 m, RMS Z = 1.1 m; and on independent check points (ICP.s) RMS X = 5.0 m, RMS Y = 2.9 m, RMS Z = 4.7 m. DTM has been generated automatically with the use of MATCH-T Inpho software and filtered with in-house software. DTM prepared on the basis of SPOT stereo data has been checked against reference data - DTM generated from aerial photographs in scale 1:26 000. The accuracy of DTM generated with SPOT 5 HRS within the HRS Scientific Assessment program (HRS-SAP) of ISPRS and CNES on site 9 Chiemsee (Germany) is also presented. Geomatica OrthoEngine of PCI has been used for orientation and DTM generation. [Termes IGN] transmission de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Project FiRE (First Response Experiment), a disaster management technology demonstration, was performed in 2001. The experiment demonstrated the use of a thermal multispectral scanning imager, integrated on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a satellite uplink/downlink image data telemetry system, and nearrealtime georectification of the resultant imagery for data distribution via the Internet to disaster managers. The FiRE demonstration provided geocorrected image data over a controlled burn to a fire management community in nearrealtime by means of the melding of new technologies. The use of the UAV demonstrated remotely piloted flight (thereby reducing the potential for loss of human life during hazardous missions), and the ability to "linger and stare " over the fire for extended periods of time (beyond the capabilities of humanpilot endurance). Improvements in a high temperature calibrated thermal imaging scanner allowed "remote" operations from a UAV and provided realtime accurate fire information collection over a controlled burn. Improved bitrate capacity telemetry capabilities increased the amount, structure, and information content of the image data relayed to the ground. The integration of precision navigation instrumentation allowed improved accuracies in georectification of the resultant imagery, easing data ingestion and overlay in a GIS framework. We present a discussion of the feasibility of utilizing new platforms, improved sensor configurations, improved telemetry, and new geocorrection software to facilitate wildfire management and mitigation strategies. [Termes IGN] propagation d'erreurRésumé : (Auteur) Thirteen panchromatic (Pan) and multiband (XS) Ikonos Geoproduct images over seven study sites with various environments and terrain were tested using different cartographic data and accuracies with a 3D parametric model developed at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing, Natural Resources Canada. The objectives of this study were to define the relationship between the final accuracy and the number and accuracy of input data, to track error propagation during the full geometric correction process (bundle adjustment and orthorectification), and to advise on the applicability of the model in operational environments.
When ground control points (GCPs) have an accuracy poorer than 3 m, 20 GGPs over the entire image are a good compromise to obtain a 3- to 4-m accuracy in the bundle adjustment. When GCP accuracy is better than 1 m, ten GCPs are enough to decrease the bundle adjustment error of either panchromatic or multiband images to 2 to 3 m. Because GGP residuals reflect the input data errors (map and/or plotting), these errors did not propagate through the 3D parametric model, and the internal accuracy of the geometric model is thus better (around a pixel or less).
Quantitative and qualitative evaluations of orthoimages were thus performed with either independent check points or overlaid digital vector files. Generally, the measured errors confirmed the predicted errors or were even slightly better, and a 2- to 4-m positioning accuracy was achieved for the orthoimages depending upon the elevation accuracy (DEM and grid spacing). To achieve a better final positioning accuracy, such as 1 m, a DEM with an accuracy of 1 to 2 m and with a fine grid spacing is required, in addition to welldefined GCPs with an accuracy of 1 m.Numéro de notice : A2003-001 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : 10.14358/PERS.69.1.43 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.14358/PERS.69.1.43 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=22299
