[Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) Over the last few years, several institutions, research centers, and organizations have developed different strategies for GPS data processing and analysis to obtain high accurate coordinates. They are taking into considerations overcoming restrictions and limitations such as necessity of using relative positioning, time consuming, and high cost of different processing software. One of these developed strategies is the web–based online GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) processing service which estimates coordinates with centimeter or decimeter level accuracy. This study aims to represent the most popular of these services, namely AUSPOS, OPUS, APPS, GAPS, Trimble RTX, and CSRS–PPP, also to perform in-between comparison of these services with respect to their achieved accuracy using field observations with different durations. The obtained results were compared with a real field data measured using traditional relative positioning technique with high accuracy standards. The set of data used in this study was performed in the Eastern zone in Egypt. The results of this comparison indicate that these services can be used as an alternative method for relative positioning technique due to their simplicity, cost-effective and saving in time. They saved about 75 % from the time required for traditional method to produce coordinate with reasonable accuracy. The maximum standard deviation obtained was 15.4 cm from APPS service with time less than two hours, while the minimum standard deviation was 0.07 cm and obtained from CSRS–PPP with time duration from 6 to 12 hours. For achieving more accurate results, it is recommended to use time duration more than two hours. [Termes IGN] variation saisonnièreRésumé : (auteur) This study examines the consistency and representativeness differences of daily integrated water vapour (IWV) data from ERA-Interim reanalysis and GPS observations at 120 global sites over a 16-year period (1995–2010). Various comparison statistics are analysed as a function of geographic, topographic, and climatic features. A small (±1 kg m−2) bias is found in the reanalysis across latitudes (moist in northern and southern midlatitudes and dry in the tropics). The standard deviation of daily IWV differences is generally below 2 kg m−2 but peaks in the northern and southern storm-track regions. In general, the larger IWV differences are explained by increased representativeness errors, when GPS observations capture some small-scale variability that is not resolved by the reanalysis. A representativeness error statistic is proposed which measures the spatiotemporal variability in the vicinity of the GPS sites, based on reanalysis data at the four surrounding grid points. It allows to predict the standard deviation of daily IWV differences with a correlation of 0.73. In general, representativeness differences can be reduced by temporal averaging and spatial interpolation from the four surrounding grid points. A small number of outlying cases (15 sites) which do not follow the general tendencies are further examined. It is found that their special topographic and climatic features strongly enhance the representativeness errors (e.g. steep topography, coastlines, and strong seasonal cycle in monsoon regions). Discarding these sites significantly improves the global ERA-Interim and GPS comparison results. The selection of sites a priori, based on the representativeness error statistic, is able to detect 11 out of the 15 sites and improve the comparison results by 20 % to 30 %. [Termes IGN] signal GPSRésumé : (auteur) The Global Positioning System (GPS) provides satellite-based navigation signals, which are employed in many fields, including agriculture, transportation, aviation, and military/personal navigation. In an effort to minimize interference among GPS satellites and to enable GPS receivers to discern satellite identity, each satellite is assigned a specific pseudorandom noise (PRN) sequence that is used to modulate the phase of the corresponding signal. The codes that modulate the current GPS landscape are constructed in such a way that cross-correlation among codes is kept to a bounded minimum, which should significantly limit harmful signal interference. In this study, the efficacy of the current PRN-based modulation system is called into question as GPS signal amplitude and carrier phase data over the past decade show frequent interference between satellite signals. [Termes IGN] incertitude géométriqueRésumé : (auteur) Fault detection and identification (FDI) in either a stand-alone GPS or in integrated GPS/INS systems is essential for improving the quality of positioning, navigation, and many other applications. The assumption that the observations include a single fault has been considered intensively in literature. However, this assumption may not necessarily be valid due to the fact that multiple faults may exist simultaneously. In this study, separability of multiple faults in GPS/INS integration systems has been analysed geometrically and statistically. This has been achieved through testing how large correlation coefficient between any pair of fault tests statistics increases the probability of faults misidentification. In addition, a new calculation procedure of correlation coefficient when four faults appear in the observations has been developed. This procedure considers calculation the correlation between a single and a punch of measurements combined together. The results show that there is a strong relationship between the value of correlation coefficient and the probability of misidentification. Furthermore, a significant relationship between the correlation and the fault test values can be found when splitting the measurements combinations into groups based on the combination similarity. Nevertheless, this relationship can be defined without splitting the measurements into groups when using a new correlation procedure for four faults case. The geometric representation shows that large correlation coefficient reflects small angle between the correlation and the x-axis; whereas the angle between the fault-test vectors and the x-axis becomes wider when a tiny correlation exist. [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) In multi-GNSS integration, fixing inter-system double-difference ambiguities to integers is still a challenge due to the existence of inter-system biases (ISB) when mixed types of GNSS receivers are used. It has been shown that when ISB is known, the inter-system ambiguities can be fixed and the reliability of ambiguity fixing can be improved significantly, especially under poor conditions when the number of observed satellites is small. In traditional methods, the intra-system ambiguity is fixed first; then, the ISB is estimated to ultimately fix the inter-system ambiguity. In our work, we use the particle filter-based method to estimate the ISB parameter and fix the inter-system ambiguities to integers at the same time. This method shows higher reliability and higher ambiguity fixing rate. Nevertheless, the existing particle filter approach for ISB parameter estimation is a one-dimensional algorithm. When satellites from three or more systems are observed, there are two or more ISB parameters. We extend the current one-dimensional particle filter approach to multi-dimensional case and estimate multi-ISB parameters in this study. We first present a multi-dimensional particle filter approach that can estimate multi-ISB parameters simultaneously. We also show that the RATIO values can be employed to judge the quality of multi-dimensional ISB values. Afterward, a two-dimensional particle filter approach is taken as an example to validate this approach. For example, in the experiment of GPS L5, Galileo E5a and QZSS L5 integration with 6 satellites using the IGS baseline SIN0-SIN1, only three ambiguities are resolved to integer when the ISBs are unknown. The integer ambiguity fixing rate is 41.0% with 53% of the ambiguity-fixed solutions having positioning errors larger than 3 cm. However, when our approach is adopted, the number of integer ambiguity parameters increases to five. The integer ambiguity fixing rate increases to 99.7% with 100% of ambiguity-fixed solutions having positioning errors smaller than 3 cm.
