[Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) Pedestrian and vehicular navigation relies mainly on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Even if different navigation systems are integrated, GNSS positioning remains the core of any navigation process as it is the only system capable of providing independent solutions. However, in harsh environments, especially urban ones, GNSS signals are confronted by many obstructions causing the satellite signals to reach the receivers through reflected paths. These No-Line of Sight (NLOS) signals can affect the positioning accuracy significantly. This contribution proposes a new algorithm to detect and exclude these NLOS signals using 3D building models constructed from Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI). OpenStreetMap (OSM) and Google Earth (GE) data are combined to build the 3D models incorporated with GNSS signals in the algorithm. Real field data are used for testing and validation of the presented algorithm and strategy. The accuracy improvement, after exclusion of the NLOS signals, is evaluated employing phase-smoothed code observations. The results show that applying the proposed algorithm can improve the horizontal positioning accuracy remarkably. This improvement reaches 10.72 m, and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) drops by 1.64 m (46 % improvement) throughout the epochs with detected NLOS satellites. In addition, the improvement is analyzed in the Along-Track (AT) and Cross-Track (CT) directions. It reaches 6.89 m in the AT direction with a drop of 1.076 m in the RMSE value, while it reaches 8.64 m with a drop of 1.239 m in the RMSE value in the CT direction. [Termes IGN] superpositionRésumé : (auteur) With the objective of improving the registration of lidar point clouds produced by kinematic scanning systems, we propose a novel trajectory adjustment procedure that leverages on the automated extraction of selected reliable 3D point–to–point correspondences between overlapping point clouds and their joint integration (adjustment) together with raw inertial and GNSS observations. This is performed in a tightly coupled fashion using a dynamic network approach that results in an optimally compensated trajectory through modeling of errors at the sensor, rather than the trajectory, level. The 3D correspondences are formulated as static conditions within the dynamic network and the registered point cloud is generated with significantly higher accuracy based on the corrected trajectory and possibly other parameters determined within the adjustment. We first describe the method for selecting correspondences and how they are inserted into the dynamic network via new observation model while providing an open-source implementation of the solver employed in this work. We then describe the experiments conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed framework in practical airborne laser scanning scenarios with low-cost MEMS inertial sensors. In the conducted experiments, the method proposed to establish 3D correspondences is effective in determining point–to–point matches across a wide range of geometries such as trees, buildings and cars. Our results demonstrate that the method improves the point cloud registration accuracy (5 in nominal and 10 in emulated GNSS outage conditions within the studied cases), which is otherwise strongly affected by errors in the determined platform attitude or position, and possibly determine unknown boresight angles. The proposed methods remain effective even if only a fraction (0.1%) of the total number of established 3D correspondences are considered in the adjustment. [Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (auteur) Typically, navigation software processes global navigation satellite system (GNSS) phase observables along with the code observables to achieve high-precision positioning. However, the unmodeled code-related errors, typically multipath effects, may deteriorate the positioning performance. Such effects are well known for the second generation BeiDou navigation satellite system (BDS-2). To prevent this adverse effect on the state-of-the-art positioning technique, namely integer ambiguity resolution-enabled precise point positioning (PPP-RTK), we propose a multi-frequency phase-only PPP-RTK model. This model excludes the code observables and addresses the rank deficiency problem underlying the phase observation equations at the undifferenced and uncombined level. To verify the model, we collect five-day triple-frequency BDS 30-s data from a network of seven reference stations (about 112 km apart) to estimate the products on the network side. Based on these products, we conduct simulated dynamic positioning at a user station to test the phase-only PPP-RTK model and compare it with the customary code-plus-phase (CPP) model. The results show that the satellite phase biases, existing only at the third frequency, have a precision of better than two centimeters, while the precision of the satellite clock and ionospheric delay is better than eight centimeters. Due to the strong correlation between individual corrections, it is necessary to assess the quality of combined products, including the satellite clock, satellite phase bias and ionospheric delay, the precision of which is several millimeters to two centimeters, which is sufficiently precise for user positioning. Regarding BDS-2 positioning, the time-to-first-fix (TTFF) of the CPP PPP-RTK is 12 epochs, while it is only three epochs for the phase-only PPP-RTK. The reason why the CPP model underperforms the phase-only model is that the BDS-2 data collected are subject to notable code multipath. We show that the code multipath in the third-generation BDS (BDS-3) data is mild, so the CPP PPP-RTK achieves instantaneous centimeter-level positioning with a TTFF of one epoch. The BDS-3 phase-only PPP-RTK obtains virtually the same positioning results, but the TTFF is two epochs. When combining BDS-2 with BDS-3, the TTFF of both models remains unchanged compared to that of the BDS-3 solutions, implying that ambiguity resolution based on the stronger dual-system CPP model is robust to the BDS-2 code multipath. However, the ambiguity-float solution of the CPP PPP-RTK is adversely affected by the code multipath and requires 43 epochs to convergence, while its phase-only counterpart needs 36 epochs. [Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéRésumé : (auteur) Ambiguity resolution (AR) is an effective approach to improve the orbit accuracy of the low Earth orbit satellites using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). The most commonly used single-difference (SD) AR requires prior knowledge of the GNSS hardware biases, while the potential unavailability of the bias products may hinder the AR process for users. The track-to-track (T2T) AR can work as an alternative without the GNSS bias products, but the performance may be degraded by the receiver hardware biases. To provide a better alternative in this condition, a new AR method called SD T2T (SDT2T) is proposed in this study, where the GNSS and receiver biases can be greatly eliminated without external knowledge. The performance of the SD AR, SDT2T AR, and T2T AR methods are assessed based on the gravity recovery and climate experiment follow on and SWARM data. The results show that the improvements contributed by the SDT2T AR are comparable to the SD AR. The multiple iterations required by the T2T AR can be avoided by the SDT2T AR, and the accuracy of the T2T AR can be further improved with the preprocessed ambiguities of the SDT2T AR. Considering the efficiency and stable performance, the SDT2T AR is recommended as the preferred alternative single-receiver AR method in the absence of the GNSS hardware bias products. [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) Double-difference (DD) analysis and precise point positioning (PPP) are two widely used processing approaches to analyze ground-based GNSS measurements. We investigate the quality of the zenith tropospheric delay (ZTD) estimates produced from both processing approaches for a regional network over 1 year and show that DD solutions contain more numerous and larger ZTD outliers. The accuracy of both DD and PPP solutions strongly depends on the data processing procedure and models. We analyze the impact of mapping functions, satellite orbit and clock products and ambiguity resolution (fixed vs. float) on ZTD estimates. The results are assessed from station position repeatability and ZTD differences with respect to the ERA5 reanalysis. As expected, mapping functions have the strongest impact, with VMF1 being more accurate than GMF. Surprisingly, the impact of the ambiguity resolution and satellite products is rather weak in the PPP solution. We speculate that this results from the fact that final satellite products have reached a high level of accuracy and that other error sources now dominate static PPP solutions. A time and frequency analysis reveal unprecedented spurious sub-daily signals in the ZTD time series, which occur at the frequency of the GPS satellite repeat period and its harmonics. This suggests that sub-daily GPS ZTD estimates contain a significant part of the residual modeling errors due to satellite orbits, tidal models, mapping functions and multipath, which still need to be improved.
