[Termes IGN] transformation en ondelettesRésumé : (auteur) Various factors cause GPS signals to be weakened in their path from satellites to receiver. This phenomenon leads to some problems in the normal stages of the positioning process, including acquisition stage. The wavelet transform is one of the tools that have been employed in several methods to improve receiver’s sensitivity in confronting weak GPS signals. Choosing an appropriate threshold plays a key role in the performance of this de-noising method. This study presents two methods for selecting an appropriate threshold. In the first method, the threshold is determined based on the statistical information extracted from the signal. On the other hand, the threshold in the second method is determined by type II fuzzy sets. The results show that employment of these two methods increases SNR gain as well as the range of acquirable SNR which makes signals acquisition with minimum post-correlation SNR of −6.5dB in a GPS receiver possible. [Termes IGN] trajet (mobilité)Résumé : (auteur) The ubiquity of personal sensing devices has enabled the collection of large, diverse, and fine-grained spatio-temporal datasets. These datasets facilitate numerous applications from traffic monitoring and management to location-based services. Recently, there has been an increasing interest in profiling individuals' movements for personalized services based on fine-grained trajectory data. Most approaches identify the most representative paths of a user by analyzing coarse location information, e.g., frequently visited places. However, even for trips that share the same origin and destination, individuals exhibit a variety of behaviors (e.g., a school drop detour, a brief stop at a supermarket). The ability to characterize and compare the variability of individuals' fine-grained movement behavior can greatly support location-based services and smart spatial sampling strategies. We propose a TRip DIversity Measure --TRIM – that quantifies the regularity of users' path choice between an origin and destination. TRIM effectively captures the extent of the diversity of the paths that are taken between a given origin and destination pair, and identifies users with distinct movement patterns, while facilitating the comparison of the movement behavior variations between users. Our experiments using synthetic and real datasets and across geographies show the effectiveness of our method. [Termes IGN] zone urbaine denseRésumé : (Auteur) Automatically identifying potential congestion spots in cities has significant practical implications for efficient urban development and management. It requires the ability to examine the relationships between urban built environment features and traffic congestion situations. This article presents a novel and effective approach for achieving the task based on a machine‐learning technique and publicly available street‐view imagery and point‐of‐interest (POI) data. The proposed multiple‐graph‐based convolutional network architecture can: (a) extract essential urban built environment features from street‐view imagery and neighboring POIs; (b) model the spatial dependencies between traffic congestion on road networks via graph convolution; and (c) evaluate the risk level of road intersections to emerging congestion situations based on local built environment features. We apply the model to Wuhan in China, and predict the potential congestion spots across the city. The results confirm that the model prediction is highly consistent (about 85.5%) when compared to the ground‐truth data based on traffic indices derived from a big taxi GPS trajectory dataset. This research enhances the understanding of traffic congestion situations under various geographic, societal, and economic contexts based on easily accessible road, street‐view, and POI datasets at large spatiotemporal scales.
