[Termes IGN] voyageRésumé : (auteur) Global positioning system (GPS) data generated from taxi trips is a valuable source of information that offers an insight into travel behaviours of urban populations with high spatio-temporal resolution. However, in its raw form, GPS taxi data does not offer information on the purpose (or intended activity) of travel. In this context, to enhance the utility of taxi GPS data sets, we propose a two-layer framework to identify the related activities of each taxi trip automatically and estimate the return trips and successive activities after the trip, by using geographic point-of-interest (POI) data and a combination of spatio-temporal clustering, Bayesian inference and Monte Carlo simulation. Two million taxi trips in New York, the United States of America, and ten million taxi trips in Shenzhen, China, are used as inputs for the two-layer framework. To validate each layer of the framework, we collect 6,003 trip diaries in New York and 712 questionnaire surveys in Shenzhen. The results show that the first layer of the framework performs better than comparable methods published in the literature, while the second layer has high accuracy when inferring return trips. [Termes IGN] rotation de la TerreRésumé : (auteur) Recent efforts of tracking low Earth orbit and medium Earth orbit (MEO) satellites using geodetic very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) raise questions on the potential of this novel observation concept for space geodesy. Therefore, we carry out extensive Monte Carlo simulations in order to investigate the feasibility of geodetic VLBI for precise orbit determination (POD) of MEO satellites and assess the impact of quality and quantity of satellite observations on the derived geodetic parameters. The MEO satellites are represented in our study by LAGEOS-1/-2 and a set of Galileo satellites. The concept is studied on the basis of 3-day solutions in which satellite observations are included into real schedules of the continuous geodetic VLBI campaign 2017 (CONT17) as well as simulated schedules concerning the next-generation VLBI system, known as the VLBI Global Observing System (VGOS). Our results indicate that geodetic VLBI can perform on a comparable level as other space-geodetic techniques concerning POD of MEO satellites. For an assumed satellite observation precision better than 14.1 mm (47 ps), an average 3D orbit precision of 2.0 cm and 6.3 cm is found for schedules including LAGEOS-1/-2 and Galileo satellites, respectively. Moreover, geocenter offsets, which were so far out of scope for the geodetic VLBI analysis, are close to the detection limit for the simulations concerning VGOS observations of Galileo satellites, with the potential to further enhance the results. Concerning the estimated satellite orbits, VGOS leads to an average precision improvement of 80% with respect to legacy VLBI. In absolute terms and for satellite observation precision of 14.1 mm (47 ps), this corresponds to an average value of 17 mm and 7 mm concerning the 3D orbit scatter and precision of geocenter components, respectively. As shown in this study, a poor satellite geometry can degrade the derived Earth rotation parameters and VLBI station positions, compared to the quasar-only reference schedules. Therefore, careful scheduling of both quasar and satellite observations should be performed in order to fully benefit from this novel observation concept. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (Auteur) If the usability of orthophotos of aerial images and high-resolution satellite images in cadastre renewal works is ensured, the state cadastre can be maintained and constantly updated. For this purpose, three pilot fields in Konya, Adana and Şanlıurfa were selected. In these fields, land surveys were made with a CORS method by using GPS. The coordinates were obtained by using orthophotos in Konya (1/2000 scale) and in Adana (1/5000 scale) and orthophotos with 1/5000 scale obtained from WorldView-2 high-resolution satellite images in Şanlıurfa. One aim was to establish the positional accuracy of the data obtained from digital orthophotos and area accuracy in comparison with cadastral areas by presuming that the land surveys were accurate. In light of the discovered results, comments on the usability of orthophotos obtained from aerial images and high-resolution satellite images in renewal cadastre were made. [Termes IGN] signal GNSSRésumé : (auteur) In recent years, the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have been intensively modernized, resulting in the introduction of new carrier frequencies for GPS and GLONASS and the development of new satellite systems such as Galileo and BeiDou (BDS). For this reason, the absolute field antenna calibrations performed so far for the two legacy carrier frequencies, the GPS and GLONASS, seem to be insufficient. Hence, all antennas will require a re-calibration of their phase center variations for the new signals to ensure the highest measurement accuracy. Currently, two absolute calibration methods are used to calibrate GNSS antennas: field calibration using a robot and calibration in an anechoic chamber. Unfortunately, differences in these methodologies also result in a disparity in the obtained antenna phase center corrections (PCC). Therefore, we analyze the differences between individual PCC obtained with these two methods, specifically for the Leica AR-25 antenna model (LEIAR25). In addition, the influence of PCC differences on the GNSS-derived position time series for 19 EUREF Permanent GNSS Network (EPN) stations was also assessed. The results show that the calibration method has a noticeable impact on PCC models. PCC differences determined for the ionosphere-free combination may reach up over 20 mm and can be transferred to the position domain. Further tests concerning the positioning accuracy showed that for horizontal coordinates differences between solutions were mostly below 1 mm, exceeding 2 mm only at two stations for the GLONASS solution. However, the height component differences exceeded 5 mm for four, six and six stations out of 19 for the GPS, GLONASS and Galileo solutions, respectively. These differences are strongly dependent on large L2 calibration differences. [Termes IGN] station GNSSRésumé : (auteur) To remove atmospheric pressure loading (ATML) effect from GNSS coordinate time series, surface pressure (SP) models are required to predict the displacements. In this paper, we modeled the 3D ATML surface displacements using the latest MERRA-2 SP grids, together with four other products (NCEP-R-1, NCEP-R-2, ERA-Interim and MERRA) for 596 globally distributed GNSS stations, and compared them with ITRF2014 residual time series. The five sets of ATML displacements are highly consistent with each other, particularly for those stations far away from coasts, of which the lowest correlations in the Up component for all the four models w.r.t MERRA-2 become larger than 0.91. ERA-Interim-derived ATML displacement performs best in reducing scatter of the GNSS height for 90.3% of the stations (89.3% for NCEP-R-1, 89.1% for NCEP-R-2, 86.4% for MERRA and 85.1% for MERRA-2). We think that this may be possibly due to the 4D variational data assimilation method applied. Considering inland stations only, more than 96% exhibit WRMS reduction in the Up direction for all five models, with an average improvement of 3–4% compared with the original ITRF2014 residual time series before ATML correction. Most stations (> 67%) also exhibit horizontal WRMS reductions based on the five models, but of small magnitudes, with most improvements (> 76%) less than 5%. In particular, most stations in South America, South Africa, Oceania and the Southern Oceans show larger WRMS reductions with MERRA-2, while all other four SP datasets lead to larger WRMS reduction for the Up component than MERRA-2 in Europe. Through comparison of the daily pressure variation from the five SP models, we conclude that the bigger model differences in the SP-induced surface displacements and their impacts on the ITRF2014 residuals for coastal/island stations are mainly due to the IB correction based on the different land–sea masks. A unique high spatial resolution land–sea mask should be applied in the future, so that model differences would come from only SP grids. Further research is also required to compare the ATML effect in ice-covered and high mountainous regions, for example the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau in China, the Andes in South America, etc., where larger pressure differences between models tend to occur.
