[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) Landslides often cause significant casualties and economic losses, and therefore landslide susceptibility mapping (LSM) has become increasingly urgent and important. The potential of deep learning (DL) like convolutional neural networks (CNN) based on landslide causative factors has not been fully explored yet. The main target of this study is the investigation of a GIS-based LSM in Zanjan, Iran and to explore the most important causative factor of landslides in the case study area. Different machine learning (ML) methods have been employed and compared to select the best results in the case study area. The CNN is compared with four ML algorithms, including random forest (RF), artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM), and logistic regression (LR). To do so, sixteen landslide causative factors have been extracted and their related spatial layers have been prepared. Then, the algorithms were trained with related landslide and non-landslide points. The results illustrate that the five ML algorithms performed suitably (precision = 82.43–85.6%, AUC = 0.934–0.967). The RF algorithm achieves the best result, while the CNN, SVM, the ANN, and the LR have the best results after RF, respectively, in this case study. Moreover, variable importance analysis results indicate that slope and topographic curvature contribute more to the prediction. The results would be beneficial to planning strategies for landslide risk management. Despite significant advances during the satellite era, the monitoring of the mass changes of glaciers is still hampered by a fragmented coverage of remote sensing estimations and a poor constraint of the errors in related assessments. In this thesis, we present a globally complete and resolved estimate of glacier mass changes by spatiotemporal analysis of digital elevation models. We first develop methods based on spatiotemporal statistics to assess the accuracy and precision of digital elevation models, and to estimate time series of glacier surface elevation. In particular, we introduce a non-stationary spatial framework to estimate and propagate multi-scale spatial correlations in uncertainties of geospatial estimates. We then massively generate digital elevation models from two decades of stereo optical archives covering glaciers worldwide. From those, we estimate time series of surface elevation for all of Earth's glaciers at a resolution of 100 m during 2000-2019. Integrating these time series into volume and mass changes, we identify a significant acceleration of global glacier mass loss, as well as regionally contrasted responses that mirror decadal changes in climatic conditions. Using a large amount of independent, high-precision data, we demonstrate the validity of our analysis to yield reliable and consistent uncertainties at different scales of the spatiotemporal structure of our estimates. We expect our methods to foster robust spatiotemporal analyses, in to identify sources of biases and uncertainties in geospatial assessments. Furthermore, we anticipate our estimates to advance the understanding of the drivers that govern glacier change, and to extend our capabilities of predicting these changes at all scales. Such predictions are critically needed to design adaptive policies on the mitigation of cryospheric impacts in the context of climate change. Note de contenu : General introduction

[Termes IGN] web mappingRésumé : (auteur) The article deals with a comprehensive information system of the historic Vltava River valley. This system contains a number of resources, which are described. For old maps, which are the basis of the whole system, their georeferencing and potential problems in creating seamless mosaics are described. Other sources of data include old photographs, which are localized and stored in the system, along with the definition point of the place from which they were probably taken. The vectorization of data is described, not only for area features used for the analysis of land-use changes, but also for the vectorization of contours. These were vectorized from old maps and are substantial for the creation of historic DEM. Vectorized footprints of buildings and vectors of other functional areas subsequently serve as a basis for the procedural modeling of the virtual 3D landscape. The creation of such a complex and broad information system cannot be described in one article. The aim of this text is to draw attention to a possible approach to the presentation and visualization of the historic landscape, along with links to important documents.
