[Termes IGN] reconstruction 3D du bâtiRésumé : (Auteur) 3D-city models are becoming an important tool for town planning. Photogrammetry appears to provide the only economic means to acquire truly 3D city data. The paper discusses the current status of automatic and semiautomatic acquisition method. Research in automatic methods for building extraction being increasingly intensive in the last few years, has lead to promising results, however, still lacks the performance needed for practical applications. Semiautomatic acquisition methods rely on the ability of the operator to intelligently interpret and select the required information and appear to be ripe for practical implementation. [Termes IGN] théorie de Dempster-ShaferRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, we present a model of the uncertainty for the comparison between a raster Digital Elevation Model (D.E.M.) and a medium scale topographic database, applied to the detection of the planimetric changes of the buildings. From the analysis of the sources of uncertainty in both data, we set up a frame for their comparison within the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence, considered as an extension of the theory of the probabilities. The present proposals show two main advantages. First, the model allows to represent, within an homogeneous theory, various phenomena, such as the local plotting accuracy of a matching process, the matching faults, or the lacks induced by the occlusions of the scene. Secondly, it yields a numerical characterization of the changes without need for any thresholding before the change decision. The current limitations of the study are to put aside the issues raised by the vegetation, and to consider the D.E.M. samples as independent. As such, the theoretical contribution of this paper consists principally in giving a formal basis to a simple characterization, by linking it to a robust theory. A preliminary evaluation of the model gives encouraging results. [Termes IGN] vectorisationRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, a strategy is presented to automatically generate 3D building models in urban sites from high resolution (8cm per pixel) aerial stereopairs. The entire system is based on a close cooperation between 2D and 3D processings. We have adopted a hierarchical approach — global scene analysis followed by local modelling — in order to deal with complex urban scenes. Our global scene analysis exploits to the full extent the depth information: an adaptative correlation algorithm provides dense and reliable depth data, then we elaborate a global scene classification in three classes: "ground", "building" and "vegetation". The local modelling is then carried out working separately on each "building" regions. It consists in a roof boundary detection and modelling, from linear segments and 3D contours. Roof boundaries are finally vectorized, providing accurate building models.
