[Termes IGN] véhicule sans piloteRésumé : (Auteur) This work introduces a Mobile Stereo Mapping System (MSMS) designed for remote operation onboard unmanned vehicles for navigation and rapid collection of 3D spatial data through direct georeferencing and integration of optical and multiple navigation sensors. By avoiding the need for ground control points, the system offers a low-cost mapping solution for both kinematic and static cases, rapid deployments, high data resolutions, and low risk to operators. Position estimation of the camera is based on differential GPS, loosely coupled in a Kalman filter with a low-cost Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) based Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). Attitude is estimated from gyroscope data, aided by accelerometer and magnetometer data to compensate for gyro drift. Two low-cost consumer digital cameras are calibrated and time-synchronized with the GPS/IMU to provide directly georeferenced stereo imagery. The MSMS determines mapping coordinates using photogrammetric solutions modified for direct georeferencing. A calibration process has been developed for the sensor components and the integrated system itself to determine systematic errors and biases, and to determine the relative geometry of the sensors. Object space accuracies (Root Mean Square Error (RMSE)) in the range of 1/100 at camera-to-object distances of about 30m were achieved using wide baseline overlapping images taken from two separate positions of the stereo-metric MSMS. The system design and the calibration and mapping accuracy of the MSMS are presented and assessed using field testing. [Termes IGN] SIG 3DRésumé : (Auteur) The development of a Geographic Information System (GIS) needs to import 3D solid elements created in three dimensions. The acquisition of these data is done, in most cases, by using a LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). Another possibility is the use of mobile mapping, integrated GNSS and inertial system (IMU). Subsequently, we conducted a thorough editing job. Certainly, if the scale of the project is larger, the amount of detail is greater and hence the cost and time of acquisition will be higher. Thus, the development of a GIS project for 3D applications, such as for the area of power distribution is still impractical for use in Brazil due to the high cost of 3D acquisition. Thus, to make the use of these tools in 3D GIS environment feasible an alternative methodology for cost reduction was developed. The alternative presented here was the use of an existing collection of photos, in this case refering to coverage on the scale 1:8000. Additionally, it used the 1: 2000 base map and a high resolution image from the QuickBird satellite (used as a backdrop and applied as texture in digital terrain model). On developing the project, we used the Opensource software, complete VTP (Virtual Terrain Project), including the libraries OGR, GDAL and vtdata vtlib compatible with MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class), GDI + (Graphics Device Interface Plus), and the database PostgreSQL (free database). 3D data modeling was done in order to reduce costs for an application to electricity distribution. Finally, we performed an analysis of the relative positional quality, and obtained satisfactory quantitative results, as presented in the text below. [Termes IGN] surface (géométrie)Résumé : (Auteur) As part of the ongoing activities for the European space mission BepiColombo to Mercury, a new stereo-matching algorithm is here proposed: this algorithm uses deformable surfaces, or snakes, to find a dense disparity map. Subject to both external and internal forces, respectively represented by the similarity function and by smoothness constraints on the disparity map, a "deformable" disparity map evolves from an initial approximate state to an optimal one in which the algorithm has reached convergence. This algorithm is expected to provide one of the image matching tools for the Digital Terrain Model generation procedure that will be used by the BepiColombo stereo camera. To check the algorithm, tests have been performed on synthetic images derived from 3D models of geological features relevant to planetary science. The results show that it is possible to obtain an image measurement accuracy comparable to the one attainable with the Least Squares Matching algorithm. In addition, less object smoothing can be obtained since the object points are not derived by a large scale averaging over a terrain patch, as for example, in area-based methods; this means that more details of the terrain can be captured. Finally, because of the continuity constraint, this method is also expected to be robust in case of blunders in the reconstruction of the parallax field.
