[Termes IGN] précision du positionnementRésumé : (auteur) High-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI) and airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data are widely used for deriving 3D spatial information. However, the 3D spatial information derived from them in the same area can be inconsistent. Considering HRSI and LiDAR datasets taken from metropolitan areas as a case study, this paper presents a novel approach to the geometric integration of HRSI and LiDAR data to reduce their inconsistencies and improve their geopositioning accuracy. First, the influences of HRSI’s individual rational polynomial coefficients (RPCs) on geopositioning accuracies are analyzed and the RPCs that dominate those accuracies are identified. The RPCs are then used as inputs in the geometric integration model together with the tie points identified in stereo images and LiDAR ground points. A local vertical constraint and a local horizontal constraint are also incorporated in the model to ensure vertical and horizontal consistency between the two datasets. The model improves the dominating RPCs and the ground coordinates of the LiDAR points, decreasing the inconsistencies between the two datasets and improving their geopositioning accuracy. Experiments were conducted using ZY-3 and Pleiades-1 imagery and the corresponding airborne LiDAR data in Hong Kong. The results verify that the geometric integration model effectively improves the geopositioning accuracies of both types of imagery and the LiDAR points. Furthermore, the model enables the full comparative and synergistic use of remote sensing imagery and laser scanning data collected from different platforms and sensors. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (auteur) A method for the autonomous geolocation of ground vehicles in forest environments is presented. The method provides an estimate of the global horizontal position of a vehicle strictly based on finding a geometric match between a map of observed tree stems, scanned in 3D by Light Detection and Ranging (lidar) sensors onboard the vehicle, to another stem map generated from the structure of tree crowns analyzed from high resolution aerial orthoimagery of the forest canopy. The method has been tested with real-world data and has been able to estimate vehicle geoposition with an average error of less than 2 m. The method has two key properties that are significant: (a) The algorithm does not require a priori knowledge of the area surrounding the robot, and (b) Based on estimated vehicle state, it uses the geometry of detected tree stems as the only input to determine horizontal geoposition. [Termes IGN] image radar moiréeRésumé : (Auteur) The SuperSAR imaging system, a novel multi-azimuth synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system capable of detecting Earth surface deformation in three dimensions from a single satellite platform, has recently been proposed. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of detecting precise 3-D surface displacement measurements with the SuperSAR imaging system using a point target simulation. From this simulation, we establish both a relationship between the interferometric SAR phase and the across-track displacement and a relationship between the multiple-aperture interferometry phase and the along-track displacement based on the SuperSAR imaging geometry. The theoretical uncertainties of the SuperSAR measurement are analyzed in the across- and along-track directions, and the theoretical accuracy of the 3-D displacement measurement from the SuperSAR system is also investigated according to both the decorrelation and the squint and look angles. In the case that the interferometric coherence is about 0.8 and that five effective looks are employed, the theoretical 2-D measurement precision values are about 3.67 and 6.35 mm in the across- and along-track directions, respectively, and the theoretical 3-D measurement precision values for 3-D displacement are about 4.05, 4.56, and 3.45 mm in the east, north, and up directions, respectively. The result of this study demonstrates that the SuperSAR imaging system is capable of measuring the 3-D surface displacement in all directions with subcentimeter precision. [Termes IGN] Web View ServiceRésumé : (Auteur) Land has an essential role in any society, either as one of the most important capitals of mankind or as a place for people's life and activities. Therefore, registration of ownership and land use rights in a formal system is a major issue. In different countries, Cadastre systems can register extent, rights, restrictions and responsibilities related to land parcels. Many organizations such as municipality, tax and banks need to this information for planning and decision making. Considering the needs for land information by different organizations, access to cadastre data gains a lot of importance. Despite this importance, access to cadastre information encounter with different challenges such as differences in platforms or data structures and access to semantic and geometric data. The main goal of this research is to overcome these challenges and to improve the interoperability in sharing and accessing 3D cadastre data and challenges. This paper investigates capabilities of current 3D Spatial Web Services: WFS, WVS, WTS and W3DS as well as advantages of using these 3D services for access to 3D cadastre data. The authors also combined the legal classes of LADM with geometrical classes of CityGML for transferring the semantic and geometric cadastre data. Finally, some prospects of using 3D Web Services will be illustrated through implementation the scenarios. The most important advantages of using 3D Spatial Web Services in cadastre are on the fly construction and on demand presentation of 3D cadastral model, facilitating of access to legal and descriptive cadastre information, no necessity to user's awareness of data structure in cadastre database and compatibility with different levels of users.
