It is primarily based on source-code descriptions of the KSGSoft program developed by the author at the GFZ in Postdam. The theory and algorithms are revised and extended for a new development of a multiple functional GPS software. New concepts suchs as the unified GPS data processing method and ambiguity-ionospheric algorithm, as well as general ambiguity search criteria, are reported for the first time. Mathematically rigorous, the book begins with the basics of coordinate and time systems and satellite orbits, as well as GPS observables, and deals with topic such as physical influences, observation equation, adjustment and filtering, ambiguity resolution, data processing, kinematic positioning, and, the determination of perturbed orbits. [Termes IGN] trajectographie (positionnement)Résumé : (Auteur) In repeat-pass synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry, the aproximations, allowing the phase-to-eight conversion, prevent high-resolution mapped relief. In this paper, we present a more general and exact formulation giving a new relationship between the interferogram phase and the target height. It is based on the interferometric SAR geometry and on a better expansion of the path length difference between the sensor and the target. This formulation emphasizes the impact of baseline uncertainties on digital elevation model (DEM) accuracy. A quantitative assessment of the required baseline accuracy is computed. The impact of orbital parameters, used in the new formulation, on interferogram generation is studied. Thus, a new simulator algorithm is developed and tested on a set of reference and simulated DEM examples. Examples of interferogram simulation and DEM generation validate this new approach in the case of a mountainous area in Mustang (Nepal). [Termes IGN] station DORISRésumé : (auteur) When determining precise orbits from altimetric satellites, the choice of the terrestrial reference frame is a key issue but still an open scientific topic. The terrestrial reference frame realization choice in the precise orbit determination processing will usually lead to systematic effects coming from the adoption of translations, scale factor and rotations but also others effects more difficult to assess, coming from a possible erroneous choice of a station coordinate. The goal of this paper is to try to characterize the effect of an erroneous individual station coordinate in vertical and horizontal components on the satellite orbit determination (characterization of the error, order of magnitude, consequences assessment of the on derived oceanographic products). Simulations have been realized at Institut Géographique National using the GIPSY/OASIS software from actual TOPEX DORIS data. These studies show that the stations whose latitude are close to the orbit inclination have the largest effect on the orbit error. These simulations will also help us to better estimate the required accuracy of a new tracking station. Additionally the study has been extended to try to predict the future uncertainty in the mean sea level determination in the 2000–2010 period derived for the present accuracy of the ITRF97 coordinates and velocities. Present uncertainties in the ITRF97 realization will create systematic errors in the TOPEX derived mean sea level at the 1 mm level in 2010.
