[Termes IGN] typologieRésumé : (auteur) Addressing environmental governance conflicts requires the adoption of a complexity approach to carry out an adaptive process of collective learning, exploration, and experimentation. In this article, we hypothesize that by integrating community-based participatory mapping processes with internet-based collaborative digital mapping technologies, it is possible to create tools and spaces for knowledge co-production and collective learning. We also argue that providing a collaborative web platform enables these projects to become a repository of activist knowledge and practices that are often poorly stored and barely shared across communities and organizations. The collaborative Webmap of Water Conflicts in Andalusia, Spain, is used to show the benefits and potential of mapping processes of this type. The article sets out the steps and methods used to develop this experience: (i) background check; (ii) team discussion and draft proposal; (iii) in-depth interviews, and (iv) integrated participative and collaborative mapping approach. The main challenge that had to be addressed during this process was to co-create a tool able to combine the two perspectives that construct the identity of integrated mapping: a data-information-knowledge co-production process that is useful for the social agents—the environmental activists—while also sufficiently categorizable and precise to enable the competent administrations to steer their water management. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) The documentation of built heritage has seen a significant development these past few decades due to advancements in new 3D sensors and 3D recording techniques. 3D data serve as reliable and tangible archive for historical sites and monuments. Since 3D data have such importance in the field of heritage documentation, quality control is paramount and must be performed before any point cloud processing is even planned to be conducted. The thesis is therefore divided into two parts. The first part concerned mainly the data acquisition and quality control of the point cloud data using the two techniques most commonly used, i.e. photogrammetry and laser scanning. A particular emphasis was also put on the integration of photogrammetry and laser scanning within the context of a multi-scalar documentation of a heritage site. The second part will address the processing of the resulting point cloud, particularly its segmentation and classification. The multi-scalar approach proposed in this thesis is an important point to note, as in many cases a historical building of interest is located in a historical neighbourhood; thus the requirement for a multi-scalar segmentation. By combining these two parts, the thesis had attempted to address the 3D workflow of heritage sites in a holistic manner, from the 3D data acquisition up to the resulting point clouds' segmentation and classification into individual entities in various scale steps. [Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (auteur) As users increasingly rely on online social networks for their communication activities, personal location data processing through such networks poses significant risks to users’ privacy. Location tracks can be mined with other shared information to extract rich personal profiles. To protect users’ privacy, online social networks face the challenge of ensuring transparent communication to users of how their data are processed, and explicitly obtaining users’ informed consent for the use of this data. In this paper, we explore the complex nature of the location disclosure problem and its risks to personal privacy. We evaluate, with an experiment involving 715 participants, the contributing factors to the perception of such risks with scenarios that mimic (a) realistic modes of interaction, where users are not fully aware of the extent of their location-related data being processed, and (b) with devised scenarios that deliberately inform users of the data they are sharing and its visibility to others. The results are used to represent the users’ perception of privacy risks when sharing their location information online and to derive a possible model of privacy risks associated with this sharing behaviour. Such a model can inform the design of privacy-aware online social networks to improve users’ trust and to ensure compliance with legal frameworks for personal privacy.
