[Termes IGN] risque naturelRésumé : (auteur) This study introduces four heterogeneous ensemble-learning techniques, that is, stacking, blending, simple averaging, and weighted averaging, to predict landslide susceptibility in Yanshan County, China. These techniques combine several state-of-the-art classifiers of convolutional neural network, recurrent neural network, support vector machine, and logistic regression in specific ways to produce reliable results and avoid problems with the model selection. The study consists of three main steps. The first step establishes a spatial database consisting of 16 landslide conditioning factors and 380 historical landslide locations. The second step randomly selects training (70% of the total) and test (30%) datasets out of grid cells corresponding to landslide and non-slide locations in the study area. The final step constructs the proposed heterogeneous ensemble-learning methods for landslide susceptibility mapping. The proposed ensemble-learning methods show higher prediction accuracy than the individual classifiers mentioned above based on statistical measures. The blending ensemble-learning method achieves the highest overall accuracy of 80.70% compared to the other ensemble-learning methods. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Canadian emergency management planners have historically ignored the self-motivated evacuation procedures of people who cannot initially choose the safest evacuation areas. In densely developed urban areas, open spaces can be seen as ideal evacuation areas and should thus be included in shelter planning. In this study, the public open spaces in Great Victoria were selected as the study area and evaluated using GIS technologies. A multi-criteria TOPSIS evaluation model was used to conduct comprehensive quantitative evaluations of the open spaces’ safety, accessibility, and availability. Through hybrid process, service area, and POI aggregation coupling analyses, a model is created that provides an overall evaluation at the district level. In addition to providing a model for evaluating open spaces as emergency shelters, applicable to most Canadian cities, this study emphasizes the importance and disadvantages of open space emergency shelters in Canada, which have heretofore been ignored by decision makers. In Great Victoria, we found that the distribution of open spaces does not match the dynamics of the population distribution, meaning that through inadequate preparation some districts lack a safe evacuation place—this in an area where people are at high risk of earthquake disasters and their subsequent effects. Humans are capable of reasoning about 3D spatial relations even from a single 2D image. However, making the priors that we rely on explicit and integrating them into computer programs is very challenging. Operating directly on 3D input data, such as 3D point clouds, alleviates the need to lift 2D data into a 3D representation within the task-specific algorithm and hence reduces the complexity of the problem. The 3D point clouds are not only a better-suited input data representation, but they are also becoming increasingly easier to acquire. Indeed, nowadays, LiDAR sensors are even integrated into consumer devices such as mobile phones. However, these sensors often have a limited field of view, and hence multiple acquisitions are required to cover the whole area of interest. Between these acquisitions, the sensor has to be moved and pointed in a different direction. Moreover, the world that surrounds us is also dynamic and might change as well. Reasoning about the motion of both the sensor and the environment, based on point clouds acquired in two-time steps, is therfore an integral part of point cloud processing. This thesis focuses on incorporating rigidity priors into novel deep learning based approaches for dynamic 3D perception from point cloud data. Specifically, the tasks of point cloud registration, deformation analysis, and scene flow estimation are studied. At first, these tasks are incorporated into a common framework where the main difference is in the level of rigidity assumptions that are imposed on the motion of the scene or
the acquisition sensor. Then, the tasks specific priors are proposed and incorporated into novel deep learning architectures. While the global rigidity can be assumed in point cloud registration, the motion patterns in deformation analysis and scene flow estimation are more complex. Therefore, the global rigidity prior has to be relaxed to local or instancelevel rigidity, respectively. Rigidity priors not only add structure to the aforementioned tasks, which prevents physically implausible estimates and improves the generalization of the algorithms, but in some cases also reduce the supervision requirements. The proposed approaches were quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated on several datasets, and they yield favorable performance compared to the state-of-the-art.Numéro de notice : 28660 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Thèse étrangère Note de thèse : PhD : Sciences : ETH Zurich : 2021 DOI : sans En ligne : https://www.research-collection.ethz.ch/handle/20.500.11850/523368 Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=99817 Contribution des SIG et de la modélisation volumique à la caractérisation géomorphologique et géologique de la région des Doukkala « Meseta côtière, Maroc » / Youness Ahmed Laaziz (2021)PermalinkGeomorphic analysis of Xiadian buried fault zone in Eastern Beijing plain based on SPOT image and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) data / Yanping Wang in Geomatics, Natural Hazards and Risk, vol 12 n° 1 (2021)PermalinkPermalinkModelling landslide hazards under global changes: the case of a Pyrenean valley / Séverine Bernardie in Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, vol 21 n° 1 (January 2021)PermalinkPermalinkPermalinkApplication of various strategies and methodologies for landslide susceptibility maps on a basin scale: the case study of Val Tartano, Italy / Vasil Yordanov in Applied geomatics, vol 12 n° 4 (December 2020)PermalinkLandslide susceptibility mapping using Naïve Bayes and Bayesian network models in Umyeonsan, Korea / Sunmin Lee in Geocarto international, vol 35 n° 15 ([01/11/2020])PermalinkMacrozonation of seismic transient and permanent ground deformation of Iran / Saeideh Farahani in Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, vol 20 n° 11 (November 2020)PermalinkTopographic connection method for automated mapping of landslide inventories, study case: semi urban sub-basin from Monterrey, Northeast of México / Nelly L.
