[Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (auteur) In the present study, data-driven evidential belief function model (belief function) was employed to generate landslides susceptibility index map of Darjeeling Himalaya considering 15 landslide causative factors, which grouped into six categories, i.e. geomorphological factors (elevation, aspect, slope, curvature), lithological factors (geology, soil, lineament density, distance to lineament), hydrologic factors (drainage density, distance to drainage, stream power index, topographic wetted index), triggering factor (rainfall), protective factor (normalized differential vegetation index) and anthropogenic factor (land use and land cover). Total 2079 landslide locations were mapped and randomly divided it into training datasets (70% landslide locations) and validation datasets (30% landslide locations). The resultant susceptibility map was divided into five different susceptibility zones i.e. very low, low, moderate, high and very high which covered 5.60%, 25.65%, 34.47%, 24.67% and 9.61% area respectively of the Darjeeling Himalaya. Receiver operating characteristics curve suggested that 80.20% prediction accuracy of the prepared map whereas frequency ratio plot indicated towards the ideal landslides susceptibility index map. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) Multi-temporal high-density terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) datasets are processed to delineating possible movements from terrain surfaces and trees. Terrain surface movements are estimated with the help of segmentation and random sample consensus (RANSAC) algorithm. Tree movements are interpreted by iterative closest point (ICP) solved translations and rotations of tree point clouds. The capabilities of the proposed methodology were tested using a case study of the Slumgullion landslide, where the trees without clear trunks cover the terrain surfaces. The displacements from the terrain surfaces and trees are similar with the results observed using our global positioning system (GPS) and historic results. [Termes IGN] tachéomètre électronique robotiséRésumé : (auteur) A robust geodetic framework comprising Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Robotic Total Station (RTS) and Multi-temporal InSAR (MT-InSAR) was employed first in India to investigate a landslide-prone Sirobagarh region, Uttarakhand, at different spatial extents, and to evaluate the relationship amongst the displacement estimates obtained from the applied surveying techniques. TLS derived digital elevation models indicated displacements >5 m on the landslide upper scarp. GNSS- and RTS-based observations showed horizontal movements towards the Alaknanda river in the landslide slope direction (maximum values: 0.1305 and 0.045 m, respectively), and downward vertical motion (largest subsidence magnitude: −2.1315 and −0.030 m, respectively). MT-InSAR processing of Sentinel-1a images identified 21071 measurement pixels, highlighting subsidence around the landslide (mean velocity range: −0.110 to 0.008 m/year). Analysis of displacement vectors using vector equality, cross-covariance, cross-correlation and principal component analysis reveals that GNSS vertical displacement estimates were partially correlated with MT-InSAR measurements (correlated for epoch difference 2–3), whereas there was good cross-correlation between MT-InSAR and LiDAR observations throughout. The displacement estimates and their analyses evident unstable movement of the landslide scarp occurring due to debris flow and rainfall, and a relatively moderate subsidence activity in the surrounding areas lying in the landslide zone. [Termes IGN] séismeRésumé : (Auteur) The relation between slip at the near surface and at depth during earthquakes is still not fully resolved at the moment. This deficiency leads to large uncertainties in the evaluation of the magnitude of past earthquakes based on surfaceobservations, which is the only accessible evidence for such events. A better knowledge of the way slip distributes over distinct rupture strands within the first few kilometers from the surface would contribute greatly to reduce these uncertainties. The 30 October 2016 Mw6.5 Norcia earthquake has been captured by a variety of geodetic techniques, which provide access to the slip distribution both at depth and at the ground surface, with an unprecedented level of detail for a normal-faulting earthquake. Wefirst present coseismic surface offset measurements from correlation of optical satellite imagesof sub-metric resolution, which are compared to field observations made shortly after the earthquake. Based on a joint inversion of optical data together withInSAR and GPS data, we then propose a rupture model that explains the observations both at far-field and near-field scales. Finally we explore different rupture geometriesat shallow depth, in an attempt to better explain the near-field deformation (i.e. within the first hundreds of meters around the fault)observed at the surface. Despite the fact that the solution is not unique, several lines of evidence suggest that gravity processes could be locally involved, which interfere with the dominant tectonic processes.
