[Termes IGN] système de numérisation mobileRésumé : (auteur) GNSS/INS applications are being developed, especially for direct georeferencing in airborne photogrammetry. Achieving accurately georeferenced products from the integration of GNSS and INS requires removing systematic errors in the mobile mapping systems. The INS sensor's uncertainty is decreasing; therefore, the influence of the deflection of verticals (DOV, the angle between the plumb line and normal to the ellipsoid) should be considered in the direct georeferencing. Otherwise, an error is imposed for calculating the exterior orientation parameters of the aerial images and aerial laser scanning. This study determines the DOV using the EGM2008 model and gravity data in Sweden. The impact of the DOVs on horizontal and vertical coordinates, considering different flight altitudes and camera field of view, is assessed. The results confirm that the calculated DOV components using the EGM2008 model are sufficiently accurate for aerial mapping system purposes except for mountainous areas because the topographic signal is not modelled correctly. [Termes IGN] série de TaylorRésumé : (auteur) The direct geodetic problem is regarded on the biaxial and triaxial ellipsoid. A known solution method suitable for low eccentricities, which uses differential equations in Cartesian coordinates and Taylor series expansions of these coordinates, is advanced in view of its practical application. According to previous works, this approach has the advantages that no singularities occur in the determination of the coordinates, its mathematical formulation is simple and it is not computationally intensive. The formulas of the solution method are simplified in the present contribution. A test of this method using an extensive test data set on a biaxial Earth ellipsoid shows its accuracy and practicability for distances of any length. Based on the convergence behavior of the series of the test data set, a truncation criterion for the series expansions is compiled taking into account accuracy requirements of the coordinates. Furthermore, a procedure is shown which controls the truncation of the series expansions by accuracy requirements of the direction to be determined in the direct problem. The conducted tests demonstrate the correct functioning of the methods for the series truncation. However, the considered solution method turns out to be significantly slower than another current method for biaxial ellipsoids, which makes it more relevant for triaxial ellipsoids. [Termes IGN] transformation de coordonnéesRésumé : (auteur) In this work, the direct geodesic problem in Cartesian coordinates on a triaxial ellipsoid is solved by an approximate analytical method. The parametric coordinates are used and the parametric to Cartesian coordinates conversion and vice versa are presented. The geodesic equations on a triaxial ellipsoid in Cartesian coordinates are solved using a Taylor series expansion. The solution provides the Cartesian coordinates and the angle between the line of constant v and the geodesic at the end point. An extensive data set of geodesics, previously studied with a numerical method, is used in order to validate the presented analytical method in terms of stability, accuracy and execution time. We conclude that the presented method is suitable for a triaxial ellipsoid with small eccentricities and an accurate solution is obtained. At a similar accuracy level, this method is about thirty times faster than the corresponding numerical method. Finally, the presented method can also be applied in the degenerate case of an oblate spheroid, which is extensively used in geodesy. [Termes IGN] TibetRésumé : (auteur) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and remote sensing Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) represent earth’s surface elevation with reference to ellipsoid and orthometric heights. Proper estimation of the geoid (difference of ellipsoid and orthometric heights) is necessary before comparing data referenced to the different vertical datum. In this paper, an error in estimating EGM96 orthometric height is highlighted, verified by NGA/NASA developed model and MATLAB®. A significant error was found in the ArcGIS derived EGM96 orthometric heights range between ±6.9 meters. In addition, interpolation of low-resolution geoid data also produces significant biases depending on geographic location and the number of the interpolation data point. The bias was maximum negative in the central part of Tibetan Plateau and Himalaya. Therefore, estimation of orthometric height similar to NGA/NASA model precision is necessary for comparison of DEMs for natural resources management, 3D modelling and glaciers mass balance mainly in the mountainous regions.
