[Termes IGN] précision géométrique (imagerie)Résumé : (Auteur) High-resolution ( 1m) satellite imagery and archival World War 2 era (WW2) aerial photographs are currently available to support high-resolution longterm change measurements at sites across China. A major limitation to these measurements is the spatial accuracy with which this imagery can be orthorectified and co-registered. We orthorectified IKONOS 1m resolution GEO-format imagery and WW2 aerial photographs across five 100km2 rural sites in China with terrain ranging from flat to hilly to mountainous. Ground control points (GCPs) were collected uniformly across 100 km2 IKONOS scenes using a differential Global Positioning Systems (GPS) field campaign. WW2 aerial photos were co-registered to orthorectified IKONOS imagery using bundle block adjustment and rational function models. GCP precision, terrain relief and the number and distribution of GCPs significantly influenced image orthorectification accuracy. Root mean square errors (RMSEs) at GCPs for IKONOS imagery were Numéro de notice : A2005-256 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1080/01431160512331326684 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1080/01431160512331326684 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27392

[Termes IGN] précision géométrique (imagerie)Résumé : (Auteur) Earth observation data are becoming available at increasingly finer resolutions. Sensors already in existence (IKONOS, Quickbird, SPOT 5, Orbview) or due to be launched in the near future will reach 1-5 m resolution. These very high resolution (VHR) data will provide more details of the urban areas, but it seems evident that they will create additional problems in terms of information extraction using automatic classification. In this framework, this paper examines the potential of the spectral/textural approach to improve the classification accuracy of intra-urban land cover types. The utility of the textural analysis was measured in comparison with multi-spectral per-pixel classifications. Haralick's second-order statistics were applied to the co-occurrence matrix. Four texture indices with six window sizes created from panchromatic images were tested on images at high to very high resolutions (10-1 m). The results show that the optimal index improving the global classification accuracy is the homogeneity measure, with a 7 x 7 window size. Moreover, for 1 m images, texture measure of homogeneity allows one to decrease the shadows. [Termes IGN] précision géométrique (imagerie)Résumé : (Auteur) Developing countries still have a need for mapping systems that are low-cost, simple to operate by local operator fast in production and yet meet the needs of the application. A satellite mapping system can be a good choice, but cloud coverage and revisit time often limit its application, especially in tropical areas. The author shows that Aerial Videography (AV) mapping based on a consumer camcorder meets mapping requirements. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper a least squares-based method is proposed for adjusting the boundaries of area objects in a GIS that is designed particularly for solving inconsistencies between the areas of digitized and registered land parcels. The principle of this approach is taking the size of the registered area of a land parcel as its true value and to adjust the geometric position of the boundaries of the digitized parcel. First, a generic area adjustment model is derived by incorporating the following two categories of constraints: (a) attribute constraint: the size of the true area of the parcel, and (b) geometric constraints: such as, straight lines, right angles and certain distances. Second, the methods used to adjust the areas of the parcels for different cases are presented. Third, the implementation of the proposed model is illustrated using several case studies. The results of the application and the corresponding analysis demonstrate that the proposed approach is able to maintain a consistency between the areas of the digitized and registered parcels. This study has solved one of the most critical problems in developing a land/cadastral information system, and this solution has been adopted in the processing of real world cadastral data in Shanghai and other cities in China.
