Maps of the differential atmospheric delay are generated by processing a set of interferometric SAR images acquired by the ENVISAT-ASAR mission over the Lisbon region from April to November 2009. GPS measurements of the wet zenith delay are carried out over the same area, covering the time interval between the first and the last SAR acquisition. The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model is used to model the atmospheric delay over the study area at about the same time of SAR acquisitions. The analysis of results gives hints to devise mitigation approaches of atmospheric artifacts in SAR interferometry applications. The paper describes the procedure to implement this integrated approach in the real-world situations of surveillance of archaeological and built heritage. Targeted tests were carried out on the case study of the Domus Tiberiana sited along the northern side of the Palatino Hill in the central archaeological area of Rome, Italy, and displacements of the monument were monitored over almost one year of acquisition. The GBInSAR - TLS integration provided updated information about the condition of the archaeological structures in relation to their history of instability mechanisms, and did not highlighted a general worsening for the stability of the entire monument. Point-wise and prompt detection of displacement anomalies and/or sudden changes in displacement trends proved the suitability of the method to support early warning procedures, also to evaluate effects on the masonry due to human activities. [Termes IGN] réflectivitéRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper a technique for the joint estimation of the complex reflectivity and of the radial velocity of ground moving targets, by means of Along-Track Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (AT-InSAR) systems, is presented. It is essentially based on statistical estimation techniques and exploits the complex interferometric SAR images, contrarily to other conventional AT-InSAR methods, which estimate the target radial velocity exploiting only the interferometric phases. The performances of the method are evaluated both for single baseline and for dual-baseline satellite systems, in terms of Cramer Rao Lower Bounds and of Root Mean Square Errors obtained in numerical experiments, with reference to all the target parameters to be estimated, which are the amplitude and phase of the target reflectivity and the target radial velocity. It is shown that for single baseline systems the obtained radial velocity estimation accuracy is comparable with the one achievable with AT-InSAR methods exploiting phase-only data, and is very high for high values of signal to clutter ratio. For dual-baseline systems, instead, the use of amplitude and phase data allows a performance significantly better than the one achievable exploiting phase-only data. Moreover, in the dual baseline case, high velocity estimation accuracy can be obtained also with lower signal to clutter ratios. [Termes IGN] séismeRésumé : (Auteur) Differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar (D-InSAR) measures ground deformation only along the line-of-sight (LOS) of the radar, which limits the capability of D-InSAR in investigating the surface damages and the focus mechanisms of earthquakes. We do a three-dimensional (3D) decomposition of the coseismic displacement of the Darfield, New Zealand earthquake that occurred on 3 September 2010 by exploiting the Multi-Aperture InSAR (MAI) and D-InSAR measurements from both ascending and descending L-band PALSAR data. Due to the dispersive nature of the ionosphere and the slight Doppler shift between the forward- and backward-looking interferograms, the ionospheric effects can be more serious in MAI measurements than in D-InSAR. We propose mitigating the ionospheric effects in the MAI processing with the directional filtering and interpolation procedure that has been applied in Offset-tracking. The rupture revealed by the 3D surface displacement fits closely to the Greendale fault, which is believed to be responsible for the earthquake. The horizontal ground motions, mostly eastwards in the hanging wall and westwards in the footwall, reached up to 2.5 m and are anti-symmetric with respect to the Greendale fault. Up to 2.5 m subsidence occurred in the hanging wall, while uplift is found in the footwall with an extreme case of 1.6 m in the far left of the fault. This makes us conclude that the Greendale fault is a normal and dextral strike-slip. It is seen that the MAI measurements are very helpful in the derivation of 3D coseismic displacement fields as it provides more accurate displacement estimation in the north–south direction. [Termes IGN] surveillance d'ouvrageRésumé : (Auteur) Shanghai maglev is a very fast traffic tool, so it is very strict with the stability of the roadbed. However, the ground subsidence is a problem in Shanghai because of the poor geological condition and human-induced factors. So it is necessary to monitor ground subsidence in the area along the Shanghai maglev precisely and frequently. Traditionally, a precise levelling method is used to survey along the track. It is expensive and time consuming, and can only get the ground subsidence information on sparse benchmarks. Recently, the small baseline differential SAR technique plays a valuable part in monitoring ground subsidence, which can extract ground subsidence information with high spatial resolution in a wide area. In this paper, L-band ALOS PALSAR data and C-band Envisat ASAR data are used to extract ground subsidence information using the SBAS method in the Shanghai maglev area. The results show that the general pattern of ground subsidence from InSAR processing of two differential bands of SAR images is similar. Both results show that there is no significant ground subsidence on the maglev line. Near the railway line, there are a few places with subsidence rates at about -20 mm/y or even more, such as Chuansha town, the junction of the maglev and Waihuan road.
