[Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents a new model for handling positional uncertainty in the process of line simplification. It considers that positional uncertainty in a simplified line is caused by (a) positional uncertainty in an initial line propagated through the process and (b) a deviation of the simplified line from the initial line. In order to describe the uncertainty in the simplified line, the maximum distance is defined as a measure. This measure is further adopted to determine parameters to a line simplification algorithm. Therefore, this model makes a step forward in the implementation of an uncertainty indicator for the line simplification. As compared existing models, the proposed uncertainty model in this paper is more comprehensive in uncertainty assessment for line simplification Numéro de notice : A2004-279 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE/INFORMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1179/000870404225019990 En ligne : https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1179/000870404225019990 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26806

[Termes IGN] Pinus (genre)Résumé : (Auteur) The main study objective was to develop robust processing and analysis techniques to facilitate the use of small-footprint lidar data for estimating plot-level tree height by measuring individual trees identifiable on the three-dimensional lidar surface. Lidar processing techniques included data fusion with multispectral optical data and local filtering with both square and circular windows of variable size. The lidar system used for this study produced an average footprint of 0.65 m and an average distance between laser shots of 0.7 m. The lidar data set was acquired over deciduous and coniferous stands with settings typical of the southeastern United States. The lidar-derived tree measurements were used with regression models and cross-validation to estimate tree height on 0.017-ha plots. For the pine plots, lidar measurements explained 97 percent of the variance associated with the mean height of dominant trees. For deciduous plots, regression models explained 79 percent of the mean height variance for dominant trees. Filtering for local maximum with circular windows gave better fitting models for pines, while for deciduous trees, filtering with square windows provided a slightly better model fit. Using lidar and optical data fusion to differentiate between forest types provided better results for estimating average plot height for pines. Estimating tree height for deciduous plots gave superior results without calibrating the search window size based on forest type. [Termes IGN] fusion d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) The problem of estimating, from one sampled realization of the remotely sensed data signal, the power spatial spectrum pattern (SSP) of the wave field scattered from the probing surface is treated as it is required for enhanced radar imaging of the remotely sensed scenes. Specifically, we propose to unify the Bayesian estimation strategy with the maximum-entropy (ME) information-theoretic principle for incorporating the prior knowledge through developing the fused Bayesian-regularization (FBR) technique for SSP estimation. The first aspect of the proposed approach concerns the ME-based incorporating the a priori information about the geometrical properties of an image to tailor the metrics structure in the solution space to the problem at hand. The second aspect alleviates the problem ill-poseness associated with preserving the boundary values, calibration, and spectral a priori fixed model properties of an image through the regularizing projection constraints imposed on the solution. When applied to SSP estimation without incorporating the metrics and regularization considerations, the procedure leads to the previously derived maximum-likelihood method. When such considerations are incorporated, the optimal FBR technique leads to a new nonlinear imaging algorithm that implies adaptive formation of the second-order sufficient statistics of the data, their smoothing, and projection applying the composite regularizing window operator. We provide analytical techniques to find these statistics and windows, and the optimal FBR estimator itself. Numerical recipes, performance issues, and simulation examples are treated in a companion paper. [Termes IGN] méthode robusteRésumé : (Auteur) The fused Bayesian-regularization (FBR) method from a companion paper provides a rigorous theoretical formalism for optimal estimation of the power spatial spectrum pattern (SSP) of the wave field scattered from the probing surface as it is required for enhanced radar imaging of the remotely sensed scenes. Being nonlinear and solution-dependent, the optimal FBR method requires extremely complex nonlinear solution-dependent operator inversions and, therefore, cannot be recommended as a numerically realizable estimator of the SSP. Here, we design a family of robust easy-to-implement FBR algorithms, provide the relevant computational recipes, and discuss their performances. We comment on the practical aspects of the robustified FBR estimators, such as numerical implementation and improvement in the output SNR. The advantage in using the proposed robust FBR method is demonstrated through simulations of enhancing the SAR images formed using the conventional matched filtering of the trajectory signal. [Termes IGN] résolution multipleRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper we present the use of ASTER data for the creation of a Digital Terrain Model (DMT) of high accuracy. Using a stereo pair of ASTER satellite images with 15m resolution we created two DMTs: one with a 30m pixel size and another one with a 15m pixel size. Then we made a statistical verification of the two DTMs accuracy. We created another DTM with 30m pixel size from digitized contours of 1:50000 scale topographic maps. We first made an optical comparison of the two DTMs with 30m pixel size. Then we subtracted the two DTMs and we presented their difference. Finally, we verified the DTMs accuracy using 68 points of a well-known elevation. All the results demonstrated that DTMs derived from ASTER data have very good accuracy.
