[Termes descripteurs IGN] synchronisationRésumé : (Auteur) Precise georeferencing of airborne full-waveform lidar is a complex process. On one hand, no ground control points are visible due to heavy canopy. While on the other hand, precise georeferencing relies on ground control. As an alternative, we propose to use an available digital elevation model (DEM ) as control. The mathematical framework minimizes the difference between the lidar DEM and the reference DEM. Our solution consists of two steps: initial optimization to find reliable ground points through iterative filtering and georeferencing, and fine optimization to achieve precise georeferencing and lidar system calibration. Through this approach, the wave-form-derived DEM can best fit the reference DEM, with a mean of 0.937 m and standard deviation of 0.792 m, while the time-synchronization offset and boresight angles are simultaneously determined, i.e., self-calibrated. This development provides a novel georeferencing approach with self-calibration for lidar data without using conventional ground control points. [Termes descripteurs IGN] sondeur monofaisceauRésumé : (auteur) Measuring the nearshore bathymetry is critical in coastal management and morphodynamic studies. The recent advent of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), in combination with coastal video monitoring techniques, allows for an alternative and low cost evaluation of the nearshore bathymetry. Camera calibration and stabilization is a critical issue in bathymetry estimation from video systems. This work introduces a new methodology in order to obtain such bathymetries, and it compares the results to echo-sounder ground truth data. The goal is to gain a better understanding on the influence of the camera calibration and stabilization on the inferred bathymetry. The results show how the proposed methodology allows for accurate evaluations of the bathymetry, with overall root mean square errors in the order of 40 cm. It is shown that the intrinsic calibration of the camera, related to the lens distortion, is the most critical aspect. Here, the intrinsic calibration that was obtained directly during the flight yields the best results. By establishing the frequency shift system vibration and reflectivity models, the single factor and comprehensive factors models are used to invert the wind speed and temperature, respectively. The parameters of the frequency shift system that meet the design accuracy requirement of the instrument are determined. The conclusion of this paper provides theoretical instructions for the calibration process of wind imaging interferometer. [Termes descripteurs IGN] précision géométrique (imagerie)Résumé : (auteur) To date, numerous Earth observation datasets from different types of satellites have been widely used in photogrammetric fields, including urban 3D modelling and geographic information systems. The development of small satellites has provided a new way to obtain repeated observations in a short period. However, compared with that of standard satellite imagery, the geometric performance of imagery from small satellites is relatively poor, restricting their photogrammetric applications. Traditional methods can improve the accuracy of optical images with the addition of well-distributed ground control points (GCPs), which require considerable financial and human resources. The collection of multi-view datasets is an alternative method for geometric processing without GCPs, but relies heavily on the stability and revisit period of satellite platforms. Therefore, this paper presents a framework for improving the geopositioning accuracy of multi-source datasets obtained from optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, and a novel heterogeneous weight strategy is proposed based on an analysis of the geometric error sources of SAR and optical images. The geometric performance of multi-source optical imagery from the Jilin-1 (JL-1) small satellite constellation is evaluated and analysed first, and then Gaofen-3 (GF-3) SAR images are calibrated based on statistical analysis for the production of virtual control points (VCPs). Based on our proposed heterogeneous weight strategy, multi-source optical and SAR images are integrated to improve the geopositioning accuracy. Experimental results indicate that our proposed model can achieve the best performance compared with other popular models, producing an accuracy of approximately 3 m in planimetry and 2 m in height, thereby providing a generic way to synergistically use multi-source remote sensing data. [Termes descripteurs IGN] robotRésumé : (auteur) The reference frame of a global terrestrial network is defined by the origin, the orientation and the scale. The origin of the ITRF2014 is defined by the ILRS long-term solution, the orientation by no-net rotation conditions w.r.t. the previous reference frame (ITRF2008), and the scale by the mean values from global VLBI and SLR solution series (Altamimi et al. in J Geophys Res Solid Earth 121:6109–6131, 2016). With the release of the Galileo satellite antenna phase center offsets (PCO) w.r.t. the satellites center of mass (GSA in Galileo IOV and FOC satellite metadata, 2019) and the availability of new ground antenna calibrations for GNSS receivers, based on anechoic chamber measurements or on robot calibrations, GNSS global network solutions qualify to contribute to the scale determination of terrestrial networks, as well. Our analysis is based on global multi-GNSS solutions of the years 2017 and 2018 and may be seen as “proof of concept” for the contribution of GNSS data to the scale determination of the terrestrial reference frame. In a first step, the currently used Galileo PCO estimations (Steigenberger et al. in J Geod 90:773–785, 2016) are compared to the released PCO values, which show discrepancies on the decimeter-level. Eventually, the published Galileo PCOs are used in an experimental solution as known values. GNSS-specific PCOs are estimated, as well, for GPS and GLONASS, together with the “standard” parameters set up in global GNSS solutions. From the estimated network coordinates, a time series of daily scale parameters of the terrestrial network is extracted, which shows an offset of the order of 1 ppb (parts per billion, corresponding to a height difference of 6.4 mm on the Earth’s surface) w.r.t. to the ITRF2014 network and an annual variation with an amplitude of about 0.3 ppb.
