[Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Urban area building extraction is one of the most challenging problems in photogrammetry. Wellextracted buildings are needed for a variety of applications, such as cartography, building GIS databases for cities, and urban planning. This paper presents a new technique to extract 3D building wireframes using a robust multiimage linematching algorithm. Although one pair of images is adequate to find the 3D position of two visibly corresponding image, features, it is not sufficient to solve the general building extraction problem due to obscured parts in the building. Four images are used in this research to extract the building wireframes. First the images are segmented into regions. Regions are then classified into roof regions and nonroof regions based on their size, shape, and intensity values. The roof region boundary pixels are located and used to find the region perimeters. Region correspondence is solved in a pairwise mode over all images using the epipolar constraint, region size, region shape, and region intensity values. Image lines within the corresponding regions are matched over all images simultaneously by first creating a plane for each region line. Planes are then intersected simultaneously and geometric consistency is used to determine acceptance or rejection. Results with high overlap and sidelap aerial images are presented and evaluated. The results show the completeness and accuracy that this method can provide for extracting complex urban buildings. The average coordinate accuracy is about 08 m using 1:4000 scale aerial photographs scanned at 30 um Six buildings were examined; the line detection rate is 98%. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (Editeur) The Design and Implementation of Geographic Information Systems provides a unique nuts-and-bolts perspective of enterprise GIS design, a geographic information system that meets the needs of numerous users across multiple units in an organization. This hands-on guide offers in-depth, up-to-date material on issues of spatial data when designing and implementing enterprise GIS, along with insightful, illustrative examples. From the predesign planning stages dealing with assessment, requirement analysis, organizational issues, and cost analysis, to integrating legacy MIS systems and preparing for future developments in database design, this user-friendly book addresses all the fundamental aspects of the design and implementation of GIS, regardless of soltware or hardware. It offers helpful "decision trees" to assist in strategic planning, as well as proven strategies for application development, interface design, and enabling Web-bases access. Numerous case studies and examples from the private and public sectors demonstrate how these strategies and approaches play out in the real world. Note de contenu : CHAPTER 1 - INTRODUCTION

[Termes IGN] infrastructure nationale des données localiséesRésumé : (Auteur) A recent national survey provides a nationwide description of framework data. The National Framework Survey was conducted by the National States Geographic Information Council and the Federal Geographic Data Committee. This paper presents findings from that survey about locally produced geodetic control and cadastral framework data. Included are specifics about spatial accuracy, completeness, and different data production activities. While the survey results provide evidence of the substantial work being done on these framework themes, they also illustrate the difficulties that remain before achieving the state goal of a national spatial data infrastructure. The results suggest that data about geodetic control, cadastral reference and publicly owned land framework are being produced widely, bin with some differences of quality and content. Ultimately these findings raise a question as to future strategies for the development of an NSDI. In particular, the survey highlights the inevitable conflict of using locally produced data as a fundamental element within a much larger network of data. Note de contenu : 1 -LE CADRE DE L'ETUDE
