[Termes IGN] réseau de nivellementRésumé : (auteur) (Auteur) Data collection is a very tedious and repetitive process. No matter how carefully the data are collected, mistakes are a part of life during field collections. Even during the most careful data collecting processes, it is easy to overlook something or make a simple mistake, which can introduce a blunder in the data. This paper analyzes blunder detection using the Tau criterion and researches its use to isolate and eliminate blunders from the data. A software program that was previously written to perform a least squares adjustment on a differential leveling network has been enhanced to incorporate the Tau criterion as a method for the detection of blunders within the data. [Termes IGN] niveau de la merRésumé : (auteur) The results from a carefully implemented GPS analysis, using a strategy adapted to determine accurate vertical station velocities, are presented. The stochastic properties of our globally distributed GPS position time series were inferred, allowing the computation of reliable velocity uncertainties. Most uncertainties were several times smaller than the 1–3 mm/yr global sea level change, and hence the vertical velocities could be applied to correct the long tide gauge records for land motion. The sea level trends obtained in the ITRF2005 reference frame are more consistent than in the ITRF2000 or corrected for Glacial‐Isostatic Adjustment (GIA) model predictions, both on the global and the regional scale, leading to a reconciled global rate of geocentric sea level rise of 1.61 ± 0.19mm/yr over the past century in good agreement with the most recent estimates. [Termes IGN] surveillance d'ouvrageRésumé : (Auteur) The paper presents an Image-based Method for Crack Analysis (IMAC) which is capable of processing a sequence of digital imagery to perform a twofold task:(i) the extraction of crack borders and the evaluation of its width across the longitudinal profile; (ii) the measurement of crack deformations (width, sliding and rotation). Here both problems are solved in 2D, but an extension to 3D is also addressed. The equipment needed to apply the method is made up of a digital camera (or a still video-camera in case a high frequency in data acquisition is necessary), an orientation frame which establishes the object reference system, a pair of signalized supports to be placed in a permanent way on both sides of the crack to compute deformations ; however, permanent targets are mandatory only for case (ii). The measurement process is carried out in a fully automatic way, a fact also that makes this technique highly operational for unskilled people in engineering surveying or photogrammetry. The accuracy of the proposed method, evaluated in experimental tests adopting different consumer digital cameras, is about + 5-20 um, like the accuracy of most deformometers, but with the advantage of automation and of augmented achievable information ; moreover, the image sequence can be archived and off-line measurements could be performed at any time.
