* Diminuer les impacts environnementaux – émissions CO2Numéro de notice : C2011-016 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE/INFORMATIQUE Nature : Communication DOI : sans Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=65087 Building agent-based walking models by machine-learning on diverse databases of space-time trajectory samples / Paul M. [Termes IGN] trajet (mobilité)Résumé : (Auteur) We introduce a novel scheme for automatically deriving synthetic walking (locomotion) and movement (steering and avoidance) behavior in simulation from simple trajectory samples. We use a combination of observed and recorded real-world movement trajectory samples in conjunction with synthetic, agent-generated, movement as inputs to a machine-learning scheme. This scheme produces movement behavior for non-sampled scenarios in simulation, for applications that can differ widely from the original collection settings. It does this by benchmarking a simulated pedestrian's relative behavioral geography, local physical environment, and neighboring agent-pedestrians; using spatial analysis, spatial data access, classification, and clustering. The scheme then weights, trains, and tunes likely synthetic movement behavior, per-agent, per-location, per-time-step, and per-scenario. To prove its usefulness, we demonstrate the task of generating synthetic, non-sampled, agent-based pedestrian movement in simulated urban environments, where the scheme proves to be a useful substitute for traditional transition-driven methods for determining agent behavior. The potential broader applications of the scheme are numerous and include the design and delivery of location-based services, evaluation of architectures for mobile communications technologies, what-if experimentation in agent-based models with hypotheses that are informed or translated from data, and the construction of algorithms for extracting and annotating space-time paths in massive data-sets. [Termes IGN] point de repèreRésumé : (Auteur) It is more natural and effective to include a variety of landmarks when providing route directions. Many of the existing solutions, however, behave like car navigation systems and do not include references to such landmarks. This research provides empirical evidence to identify the information requirements for an automated pedestrian navigation system. The two experiments discussed within this article helped identify the criteria that govern the relative saliency of features of interest within an urban environment. There are a large variety of features of interest that can be used as directional aids within route descriptions (buildings, statues, monuments, hills, roads, etc). Different measures are therefore required in order to calculate the saliency of the different classes of features. The research revealed that the most important measures of saliency include name, size, age, and colour. The research confirmed that that relative visibility and the direction of approach to the feature also affect a landmark's saliency. The research also highlighted the role that features of interest play in reorientation, confirmatory, and direction-giving tasks. [Termes IGN] service fondé sur la positionRésumé : (Auteur) In modern geographic information systems, route search represents an important class of queries. In route search related applications, users may want to define a number of traveling rules (traveling preferences) when they plan their trips. However, these traveling rules are not considered in most existing techniques. In this paper, we propose a novel spatial query type, the multi-rule partial sequenced route (MRPSR) query, which enables efficient trip planning with user defined traveling rules. The MRPSR query provides a unified framework that subsumes the well-known trip planning query (TPQ) and the optimal sequenced route (OSR) query. The difficulty in answering MRPSR queries lies in how to integrate multiple choices of points-of-interest (POI) with traveling rules when searching for satisfying routes. We prove that MRPSR query is NP-hard and then provide three algorithms by mapping traveling rules to an activity on vertex network. Afterwards, we extend all the proposed algorithms to road networks. By utilizing both real and synthetic POI datasets, we investigate the performance of our algorithms. The results of extensive simulations show that our algorithms are able to answer MRPSR queries effectively and efficiently with underlying road networks. Compared to the Light Optimal Route Discoverer (LORD) based brute-force solution, the response time of our algorithms is significantly reduced while the distances of the computed routes are only slightly longer than the shortest route.
