[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) During the last decade, the demand for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in management and design applications has greatly increased. The realization of a GIS in many application areas still suffers from data acquisition problems. To be of value to the user, a GIS must be updated regularity, so that the information in the database correctly represents the real world However, the acquisition of up-to-date GIS data by conventional survey techniques is prohibitive in cost and has therefore limited the applicability and usefullness of GIS to potential users. Described in this thesis is an attempt to overcome this problem by employing a mobile highway swey system and an associated workstation for georeferenced images. The total system consists of a data acquisition system, cailed VISAT, and a data processing system, called VISAT Station. in this thesis, only the first component will be addressed The data acquisition system has been designed and implemented in cooperation between The University of Calgary (UofC) and GEOFIT Inc. The system can be used to create and selectively update GIS databases very quickly and inexpensively. The system derives its name, VISAT, from the fact that it utilizes Video images, an INS system, and the GPS Satellite system. The system inteptes a cluster of Charge-Coupled- Devices (CCD) cameras, an Inertial Navigation System (INS), and Satellite receivers of the Global Positioning System (GPS). The system Cartier is currently a van, but the use of the system in airborne or marine mode can be realized in a similar way. For the van application, the overall objective was the development of a precise mobile highway survey system that could be operated at a speed of 60 km per hour and could achieve an accuracy of 0.3 m (RMS) with respect to the given control framework and a relative accuracy of 0.1 m (RMS) for points within a 35 m radius. This accuracy was required in all environments including inner cities, where a stand-alone GPS is not reliable. Sensor integration has been optimized to reliabiy reach the accuracy requirements in different environments. Data flow optimization has been done with the objective of facilitating the subsequent feature extraction process and transfer into a GIS mm. System testing indicates that highway velocities of 60 km/h can be maintaineci with adequate data transfer and target positioning in a post-processing mode with the VISAT Station software. Extensive tests in city centers, suburban areas, and rural areas have show that the run-to-run and the day-to-day repeatabiiity achieved is about 10 cm (RMS) in horizontal and about 5 cm (RMS) in height and that the expected absolute positionning accuracy of 30 cm is surpassed in many cases. [Termes IGN] récepteur GPSIndex. décimale : 30.03 Instruments de géodésie Résumé : (Auteur) On 31 January 1994, the Anti-Spoofing (AS) feature was activated by the GPS control segment. This restricts the capabilities of conventional two-frequency GPS receivers. Several manufacturers of geodetic receivers have developed methods to overcome most of the adverse effects of AS. The Working Group for Applied Space Geodesy of the Netherlands Geodetic Commission, (an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) decided to investigate and compare the performance of four of these receivers, i.e. the ASHTECHZ-12, the LEICA (or WILD) System 200, Alien Osborme Associates' TurboRogue (SNR8000) and the TRIMBLE 400OSSE.
Major attention was given to the ability to accurately and quickly resolve two baselines; one of 10 km and one of 100km length. Furthermore, the susceptibility to radio frequency interference (RFI) was investigated, mainly because in the past years this has on several occasions been a problem during surveys in Holland. And finally an effort has been made to determine the noise in the various observables that are output by the receivers.
We stress that this is not a comprehensive evaluation to be used to decide on which receiver to purchase. For that purpose many other aspects should be taken into account, such as performance under low signal levels (foliage), availability of software and peripheral modules to integrate GPS into normal survey operations, weight, transportability, kinematic operation, price and other aspects for specialized applications. Some guidance to the reading of this report may be useful. Individual chapters of the report can mostly be read separately, though some aspects overlap. The most important results are always included in the text, often with short tables. More detailed tables or figures are -grouped per chapter- included in the appendices. Chapter 1 is an introduction, mainly consisting of a short explanation on AS and how the various manufacturers try to overcome its restrictions. In it, the rationale is given why we choose to evaluate the aspects as described. Chapter 2 describes the data acquisition for the evaluation of baselines and the noise in various observables. Chapter 3 gives the results of "hands-off" processing of baselines, using the standard provided by the manufacturers and a commercially available receiver-independent package, i.e. TOPAS from TerraSat, recently renamed into GEOTRACER from the compagny Geotronics. The guiding principle in this chapter is that no efforts have been to improve the results by means of data editing or any other method. Chapter 4 gives the results of processing with the scientific "Bernese" software package. Here extensive efforts have beer made to get the best out of the available data. Chapter 5 describes the effects of both unintentional and intentional radio frequency interrference (RFI) on the performance. Chapter 6 explains efforts to analyse the noise in the various observables, using one single receiver per manufacturer. Results are given. Chapter 7 contains the most important conclusions. More detailed conclusions are given at the end of chapter 3, 4, 5 and 6.Numéro de notice : 63965 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Rapport DOI : sans En ligne : https://www.ncgeo.nl/downloads/42Sluiter.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=61243 Réservation
