[Termes IGN] XMLRésumé : (éditeur) DEXA 2004, the 15th International Conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications, was held August 30 - September 3, 2004, at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. The quickly growing spectrum of database applications has led to the establisment of more specialized discussion platforms (DaWaK Conference, EC-Web Conference, EGOVConference, Trustbus Conference and DEXA Workshop: Every DEXA event has its own conference proceedings), which were held in parallel with the DEXA Conference also in Zaragoza. In your hands are the results of much effort. The work begins with the preparation of the submitted papers, which then go through the reviewing process. The accepted papers are revised to final versions by their authors and are then arranged within the conference program. All culminates in the conference itself. For this conference 304 papers were submitted, and I want to thank to all who contributed to it; they are the real base of the conference. The program committee and the supporting reviewers produced altogether 942 referee reports, in average 3,1 reports per paper, and selected 92 papers for presentation. [Termes IGN] système expertIndex. décimale : 30.63 Télémétrie laser sur satellite, Télémétrie laser sur lune, VLBI Résumé : (Auteur) Since its first application in the seventies geodetic Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) has become an important technique for geodesy, astronomy and geophysics. The main focus of geodetic VLBI is the realization of terrestrial and celestial reference frames, measurement of present day tectonic motion as well as monitoring of Earth rotation. Among the geodetic space techniques only VLBI is capable of deriving at the same time all Earth orientation parameters over a longer time span without any hypotheses. The main disadvantage compared to other geodetic space techniques is the delay between the time of observation and the availability of results. One reason is the complicated analysis procedure, requiring well-founded expertise. In addition, the automation of the VLBI analysis procedure should receive more attention considering the steadily increasing amount of VLBI experiments. Because of the complicated analysis procedure, which is highly interactive and requires a lot of expert knowledge, the automation can hardly be achieved applying only conventional programming techniques.
The goal of this thesis is the design and implementation of a system to automate the entire VLBI analysis procedure. On the one hand this allows to close the gap between the time of observation and the availability of results, on the other hand the few existing experts will be relieved from their routine burdens. To achieve this, knowledge-based methods from the field of research of artificial intelligence are used. An Intelligent Assistant for Data Analysis in VLBI (IADA) is developed as an embedded expert system. Expert systems are software systems that are designed to reproduce the special knowledge and the expert's capability of reasoning within a narrow application area. Thus, expert systems make use of knowledge-based methods that allow the representation and processing of knowledge. Based on the explicit utilisation of the expert knowledge needed for the VLBI data analysis the automation of the analysis procedure can be realized. The term ,embedded" is of particular interest, because embedding expert systems in the existing data processing environment is critical for the success of such a system. Embedding IADA in the existing analysis software by building a powerful interface guarantees the automation of the whole VLBI analysis procedure. The strong connection between the existing analysis software and the expert system developed here is an important contribution of the thesis, because generally expert systems suffer from the missing connections to the existing data processing environment.
To develop a successful expert system a large number of boundary conditions have to be taken into account. Thus, the fundamentals of expert systems are investigated more extensively. Moreover, the development of the so-called structured model of the VLBI analysis procedure is described in greater detail. Next to the realization as an embedded system this model can be regarded as the most important component for the successful implementation of IADA. The structured model represents the complicated analysis procedure with all the required knowledge and analysis strategies and allows to implement this knowledge within an expert system.
The successful application of IADA in the analysis of about 80 experiments validates the specific approach of this thesis. IADA is the first system that allows the automation of the entire VLBI analysis procedure for any geodetic VLBI experiment. The results can be compared to those obtained by manual analysis by an expert. Thus, in cooperation with the VLBI group of the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy the system is presently being upgraded to an operational system for analysing the so-called INTENSIVE experiments, that are operated four times a week. Finally, this thesis has provided general insights that may be of value for the automation of other complex geodetic problems as well.Numéro de notice : 13205 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Monographie Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=54915 Réservation

[Termes IGN] système expertRésumé : (Editeur) This book is becoming part of an increasing number of development proposals in the UK and Europe. As the practice of Impact Assessment develops, it is becoming more standardised and good practice is starting to be defined. However, its quality is still far from satisfactory. Expert Systems and Geographic information Systems for Impact Assessment discusses the potential for integrating these two well known computer technologies to help with the process of Impact Assessment. The proposition behind the work is that all three areas are potentially complementary and that mutual benefits can be gained from bringing them together in the field of planning. Following an introduction to each area, the various ways in which GIS and Expert Systems can be applied are discussed. Note de contenu : PART I - GIS AND EXPERT SYSTEMS FOR IMPACT ASSESSMENT
