[Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéRésumé : (auteur) Despite the high-precision performance of GNSS real-time kinematic (RTK) in many cases, large noises in pseudo-range measurements or harsh signal environments still impact float ambiguity estimation in kinematic localization, which leads to ambiguity-fixed failure and worse positioning results. To improve RTK ambiguity resolution (AR) performance further, multi-sensor fusion technique is a feasible option. Light detection and ranging (LiDAR)-based localization is a good complementary method to GNSS. Tight integration of GNSS RTK and LiDAR adds new information to satellite measurements, thus improving float ambiguity estimation and then improving integer AR. In this work, a LiDAR aiding single-frequency single-epoch GPS + BDS RTK was proposed and investigated by theoretical analysis and performance assessment. Considering LiDAR-based localization failure because of ambiguous and repetitive landmarks, a fuzzy one-to-many feature-matching method was proposed to find a series of sequences including all possible relative positions to landmarks. Then, the standard RTK method was tightly combined with the possible positions from each sequence to find the most accurate position estimation. Experimental results proved the superiority of our method over the standard RTK method in all aspects of success rate, fixed rate and positioning accuracy. In specific, our method achieved centimeter-level position accuracy with 100% fixed rate in the urban environment, while the standard GPS + BDS RTK obtained decimeter-level accuracy with 26.84% fixed rate. In the high occlusion environment, our method had centimeter-level accuracy with a fixed rate of 96.31%, comparing a meter-level accuracy and a fixed rate of 7.65% of standard GPS + BDS RTK method. [Termes IGN] trajet (mobilité)Résumé : (auteur) Positioning integrity is crucial for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) applications. In this article, a method is presented for prediction of GNSS positioning integrity for ITS journey planning. This information, in addition to other route information, such as distance and time, can be utilized to choose the safest and economical route. We propose to combine the Advanced Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (ARAIM) technique, tailored for ITS, with 3D city models. Positioning is performed by GNSS Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) method, which can provide the accuracy required for ITS. A new threat model employed for computation of the protection levels (PLs) for RTK positioning is discussed. Demonstration of the proposed approach is performed through a kinematic test in an urban area in Tokyo. The comparison between the prediction method and the actual observations show that the two estimate close satellite geometry and PLs. The method produced PLs that bounds the actual position errors all the time and they were less than the preset alert limit. [Termes IGN] segmentation en régionsRésumé : (auteur) The demand for tree height derivation is increasing year by year, especially for large plantation and forest area. The conventional method needs a long time to complete tree measurement for large forest area, especially when using a pole, measuring tape, rangefinder, clinometer, and tree climbing. This study aims to evaluate the height of oil palm tree based on crown diameter by using a multi-rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and orthophoto were generated by using Agisoft software, while oil palm tree crown diameter was delineated by using seed generation with Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS) and Seeded Region Growing (SRG) segmentation methods in the System for Automated Geoscientific Analysis (SAGA). The study validates the results between the actual tree height and tree height estimated from UAV. The results showed that the orthophoto was successfully generated with a Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) of 2.95 cm and 129 tree crowns were successfully analyzed. The accuracy of the tree height as compared to the actual measurement was 57.7 cm. In conclusion, UAV images are capable of determining the tree height after going through the correct procedure to help foresters in their daily task. [Termes IGN] texture du solRésumé : (auteur) Drone mapping with GNSS-assisted photogrammetry is a highly efficient method for surveying small- or medium-sized areas. However, the mapping quality is not intuitively predictable, particularly in complex environments (with steep and cluttered terrain), in which the quality of the real-time kinematic (RTK) or post-processed kinematic (PPK) positioning varies. We present a method to predict the mapping quality from the information that is available prior to the flight, such as the flight plan, expected flight time, approximate digital terrain model, prevailing surface texture, and embedded sensor characteristics. After detailing the important considerations, we also present the concept of global precision within the context of minimal and efficient ground control point placement in a complex terrain. Finally, we validate the proposed methodology by means of rigorous statistical testing against numerous experiments conducted under different mapping conditions. [Termes IGN] trajet multipleRésumé : (auteur) GPS has been used to estimate ocean tide loading (OTL) height displacement amplitudes to accuracies of within 0.5 mm at the M2 frequency, but such estimation has been problematic at luni-solar K2 and K1 frequencies because they coincide with the GPS orbital period and revisit period, leading to repeating multipath and satellite orbit errors. We therefore investigate the potential of using the GLONASS constellation (with orbital period 11.26 h and true site revisit period of 8 sidereal days distinct from K2 and K1) for OTL displacement estimation, analysing 3–7 years of GPS and GLONASS data from 49 globally distributed stations. Using the PANDA software in kinematic precise point positioning mode with float ambiguities, we demonstrate that GLONASS can estimate OTL height displacement at the M2, N2, O1 and Q1 lunar frequencies with similar accuracy to GPS: 95th percentile agreements of 0.6–1.3 mm between estimated and FES2014b ocean tide model displacements. At the K2 and K1 luni-solar frequencies, 95th percentile agreements between GPS estimates and model values of 3.9–4.4 mm improved to 2.0–2.8 mm using GLONASS-only solutions. A combined GPS+GLONASS float solution improves accuracy of the lunar OTL constituents and P1 (but not significantly for K1 or K2) compared with a single-constellation solution and results in hourly-to-weekly spectral noise very similar to a GPS ambiguity-fixed solution, but without needing uncalibrated phase delay information. GLONASS estimates are more accurate at higher compared with lower latitudes because of improved satellite visibility, although this can be countered by using a lower elevation cut-off angle.
