[Termes IGN] programmation linéaireRésumé : (Auteur) In this thesis, a method to estimate vegetation parameters from multispectral remote sensing data using physical radiative transfer models and a small amount of ground-truth data is proposed. During two years this method has been exemplarily validated for different winter wheat fields imaged by a Daedalus ATM multispectral scanner. The focus lies on the variations of vegetation parameters within single fields. These variations allow to derive information about soil heterogeneities, which are important parameters for precision farming applications. For the estimation of vegetation parameters, physical radiative transfer models are combined with a linear empirical model and inverted with numerical optimisation methods. Ground-truth measurements are employed to reduce errors by a linear empirical fitting of the applied physical models. Results of model inversions with synthetic and real datasets show, that four vegetation parameters, leaf area index, chlorophyll content, specific dry matter, and specific water content are estimable assuming the given configuration. The strength of this method lies on the comprehensive and robust modelling, which assures reliable estimation of several vegetation parameters with a minimum number of ground-truth measurements. The accuracies of the estimated parameters are comparable with the quality of the ground-truth measurements. [Termes IGN] transfert radiatifRésumé : (Auteur) The present investigation evaluates surface reflectance retrieved from Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) and Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (casi) data using the atmospheric radiative transfer (RT) codes: atmospheric removal program (ATREM), Canadian advanced modified 5S (CAM5S) and moderate atmospheric radiance and transmittance model (MODTRAN4). The retrieved surface reflectances were compared with groundbased reflectances acquired with a GER3700-spectroradiometer for a playa and canola target. The results showed that the best overall performance was achieved with MODTRAN4 (average relative error of 2.3%), followed by ATREM (3.6%) and CAM5S (4.2%). Major differences occur in the stronger gas absorption regions. At wavelengths unaffected by strong gaseous absorption, the performance was similar for the three RT codes even though ATREM and CAM5S make extensive use of analytical expressions and, therefore, have faster execution times. [Termes IGN] vue 3DRésumé : (Auteur) In the year 1988, a new topographical map 1:50,000 of the Mount Everest region was published by the National Geographic Society. The full map content was derived from aerial images of scale 1:35,000, acquired in a 1984 photogrammetric flight. This highly acclaimed topographical map, produced with Swiss photogrammetric and cartographic know-how, serves until nowadays as an important work of reference. We took the analogue data (images, contours), converted them into digital form through scanning, and produced a texture-mapped 3D computer model. With a DTM of 10 m grid-size and natural texture pixel-size of 1 m this model is currently the best dataset available for an area of 25 by 25 km around the summit of Mount Everest. This paper reports about the production procedure of the model and shows some high-resolution photorealistic visualization results. The dataset has been used in the meantime by cartographers and animation experts for the production of new map-related visualization products and is much sought after by scientists of various disciplines.
