[Termes IGN] surveillance du littoralRésumé : (auteur) This paper discusses the development and implementation of a method that can be used with multi-decadal Landsat data for computing general coastal US land use and land cover (LULC) maps consisting of seven classes. With Mobile Bay, Alabama as the study region, the method that was applied to derive LULC products for nine dates across a 34-year time span. Classifications were computed and refined using decision rules in conjunction with unsupervised classification of Landsat data and Coastal Change and Analysis Program value-added products. Each classification’s overall accuracy was assessed by comparing stratified random locations to available high spatial resolution satellite and aerial imagery, field survey data and raw Landsat RGBs. Overall classification accuracies ranged from 83 to 91% with overall κ statistics ranging from 0.78 to 0.89. Accurate classifications were computed for all nine dates, yielding effective results regardless of season and Landsat sensor. This classification method provided useful map inputs for computing LULC change products. [Termes IGN] traitement automatique d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur)The Stone Pine (pinus pinea) is native to the Mediterranean region and has been used for their edible pine nuts since prehistoric times. They are widespread in horticultural cultivation as ornamental trees and planted in gardens and parks around the world. Economically speaking, the Stone Pine is very important for the agriculture sector, for tourism, and for the health sector. In this research, a pilot area located in Mount Lebanon is compared for changes in the Stone Pine cover between the years of 1962 and 2012. The comparison is based on processing a hyperspectral image provided by the European Space Agency (ESA) and a Landsat ETM+ image as well as topographic maps. Several issues related to the use of CHRiS-Proba hyperspectral images have been investigated and analyzed. The results established that hyperspectral data: (a) is 30 percent or more accurate and efficient when compared with multispectral data, and (b) helps determine precise extent of the Stone Pine cover. [Termes IGN] température de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) Cloud cover is generally present in remotely sensed images, which limits the potential of the images for ground information extraction. Therefore, removing the clouds and recovering the ground information for the cloud-contaminated images is often necessary in many applications. In this paper, an effective method based on similar pixel replacement is developed to solve this task. A missing pixel is filled using an appropriate similar pixel within the remaining region of the target image. A multitemporal image is used as the guidance to locate the similar pixels. A pixel-offset based spatio-temporal Markov random fields (MRF) global function is built to find the most suitable similar pixel. The proposed method was tested on MODIS and Landsat images and their land surface temperature products, and the experiments verify that the proposed method can achieve highly accurate results and is effective at dealing with the obvious atmospheric and seasonal differences between multitemporal images. [Termes IGN] télédétection spatialeRésumé : (Auteur) Glaciers are widely recognized as key indicators of climate change, and melt water obtained from them is an important source of fresh water and for hydropower generation. Regular monitoring of a large number of Himalayan glaciers is important for improving our knowledge of glacier response to climate change. In the present study, Survey of India topographical maps (1966) and Landsat datasets as ETM+ (2000, 2006) and TM (2011) have been used to study glacier fluctuations in Tirungkhad basin. A deglaciation of 26.1% (29.1 km2) in terms of area from 1966 to 2011 was observed.
