La première correspond à une documentation complète par photogrammétrie multi-image dans Photomodeler. Elle est suivie d'une phase de définition et de qualification de la géométrie dans Sketchup et AutoCAD avec les données mesurées afin d'obtenir un modèle dans le format VRML. Le modèle a ensuite été intégré dans une base de données, avec toutes les autres données à disposition dans le projet. Le résultat permet un accès rapide et ergonomique par le modèle 3D visualisé dans une interface web. [Termes IGN] Victoria (Australie)Résumé : (Auteur) Orthophotos (or orthoimages if in digital form) have long been recognised as a supplement or alternative to standard maps. The increasing applications of orthoimages require efforts to ensure the accuracy of produced orthoimages. As digital photogrammetry technology has reached a stage of relative maturity and stability, the availability of high quality ground control points (GCPs) and digital elevation models (DEMs) becomes the central issue for successfully implementing an image orthorectification project. Concerns with the impacts of the quality of GCPs and DEMs on the quality of orthoimages inspire researchers to look for more reliable approaches to acquire high quality GCPs and DEMs for orthorectification. Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), an emerging technology, offers capability of capturing high density three dimensional points and generating high accuracy DEMs in a fast and cost-effective way. Nowadays, highly developed computer technologies enable rapid processing of huge volumes of LiDAR data. This leads to a great potential to use LiDAR data to get high quality GCPs and DEMs to improve the accuracy of orthoimages. This paper presents methods for utilizing LiDAR intensity images to collect high accuracy ground coordinates of GCPs and for utilizing LiDAR data to generate a high quality DEM for digital photogrammetry and orthorectification processes. A comparative analysis is also presented to assess the performance of proposed methods. The results demonstrated the feasibility of using LiDAR intensity image-based GCPs and the LiDAR-derived DEM to produce high quality orthoimages. [Termes IGN] TaïwanRésumé : (Auteur) On présente dans cet article, une méthode de transformation des images-satellites à haute-résolution en ortho-images rigoureuses. Pour compléter les parties cachées, on multiplie les images. Le processus comporte trois étapes : (1) réalisation des ortho--images classiques en utilisant un modèle numérique de terrain ; (2) correction des hauteurs des bâtiments et (3) détection et complètement des parties cachées. On établit la correspondance géométrique entre les espace-objet et image en se basant sur un modèle à fonction rationnelle (MFR). Pour réaliser les ortho-images classiques, on utilise les paramètres MFR et un modèle numérique du terrain (MNT) qui permet de corriger les déformations dues au basculement de l'image et au relief du terrain. Ensuite, à l'aide d'un modèle numérique des bâtiments (MNB), on calcule les déplacements provoqués par la hauteur des bâtiments. L'intérêt de la détection des parties cachées est d'éviter tout dédoublement sur l'ortho-image. La méthode que l'on propose pour la détection des parties cachées et le redressement des bâtiments tient compte efficacement du fait que l'angle de champ des satellites est particulièrement étroit. Le polygone d'essai se situe sur la ville de Hsinchu dans le Nord de Taiwan. Les images utilisées dans cet essai proviennent du satellite QuickBird. [Termes IGN] valeur radiométriqueRésumé : (auteur) In mountainous areas, the landcover extraction out of orthoimages through semi-automatic classification is limited by several factors (such as large shadow areas, radiometric similarities between different themes, inhomogeneous radiometry among regions of the same class...). Image information is not sufficient to separate the different classes. Nevertheless, good results can be obtained by dividing each landcover class “c” into two subclasses “c in shadow” / “c not in shadow” and introducing external information in the classification process. This information can be an older or more generalized database, geographic knowledge concerning the links between relief and landcover, or prior information concerning shadows. This external knowledge is then interpreted in terms of a priori probabilities and merged with radiometric information from the image in a MAP per region classification process. Besides, the results can also be improved by the use of combinations of channels calculated from the initial image. [Termes IGN] reliefRésumé : (Auteur) Orthophoto production aims at the elimination of sensor tilt and terrain relief effects from captured perspective imagery. Uniform scale and the absence of relief displacement in orthophotos make them an important component of GIS databases, where the user can directly determine geographic locations, measure distances, compute areas, and derive other useful information about the area in question. Differential rectification has been traditionally used for orthophoto generation. For large scale imagery over urban areas, differential rectification produces serious artifacts in the form of double mapped areas at object space locations with sudden relief variations, e.g., in the vicinity of buildings. Such artifacts are removed through true orthophoto generation methodologies which are based on the identification of occluded portions of the object space in the involved imagery. Existing methodologies suffer from several problems such as their sensitivity to the sampling interval of the digital surface model (DSM) as it relates to the ground sampling distance (GSD) of the imaging sensor. Moreover, current methodologies rely on the availability of a digital building model (DBM), which requires an additional and expensive pre-processing. This paper presents new methodologies for true orthophoto generation while circumventing the problems associated with existing techniques. The feasibility and performance of the suggested techniques are verified through experimental results with simulated and real data.
