[Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (auteur) The Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning algorithm is a promising positioning technique that can provide real-time centimeter-level positioning precision in GNSS-friendly areas. However, the performance of RTK can degrade in GNSS-hostile areas like urban canyons. The surrounding buildings and trees can reflect and block the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals, obstructing GNSS receivers’ ability to maintain signal tracking and exacerbating the multipath effect. A common method to assist RTK is to couple RTK with the Inertial Navigation System (INS). INS can provide accurate short-term relative positioning results. The Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is usually used to couple RTK with INS, whereas the GNSS outlying observations significantly influence the performance. The Robust Kalman Filter (RKF) is developed to offer resilience against outliers. In this study, we design an algorithm to improve the traditional RKF. We begin by implementing the tightly coupled RTK/INS algorithm and the conventional RKF in C++. We also introduce our specific implementation in detail. Then, we test and analyze the performance of our codes on public datasets. Finally, we propose a novel algorithm to improve RKF and test the improvement. We introduce the Carrier-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) to help detect outliers that should be discarded. The results of the tests show that our new algorithm’s accuracy is improved when compared to the traditional RKF. We also open source the majority of our code, as we find there are few open-source projects for coupled RTK/INS in C++. Researchers can access the codes at our GitHub. To precisely analyze co-location relationships in a micro-scale space, this study develops a new statistical method by addressing the limitations of the ordinary cross K function method. The objectives of this paper are, first, to formulate an exact statistical method for analyzing co-location along streets in a central district constrained by a street network; second, to implement this statistical method in computational procedures. Third, this method is extended to the analysis of repulsive-location, i.e. phenomena of stores locating repulsively among different types of stores. Fourth, the paper shows a graph-theoretic diagram illustrating the spatial structure of stores in a central district consisting of bilateral, unilateral co-location and repulsive-location. Last, the proposed method is applied to eight different types of stores in a trendy district in Tokyo. The results show that the method is useful for revealing the spatial structure consisting of co-location and repulsive-location in the central district. However, such an approach usually requires great computational efforts, making it challenging to adopt for surveying fast moving processes like glaciers, particularly over wide areas. We present a local adaptive multiscale image matching algorithm (LAMMA), which repeatedly applies image correlation on grids of increasing spatial resolution and adapts the size of the interrogation area according to the local range of displacements. LAMMA allows reducing the number of calculi of several orders of magnitude and limits the occurrence of displacement outliers. We show an example of LAMMA application on Sentinel-2 images to measure glaciers flow of the Southern Patagonian Icefield, where LAMMA's runtime was comparable to that of frequency-based correlation. [Termes IGN] TwitterRésumé : (auteur) Information extracted from social media has proven to be very useful in the domain of emergency management. An important task in emergency management is rapid crisis mapping, which aims to produce timely and reliable maps of affected areas. During an emergency, the volume of emergency-related posts is typically large, but only a small fraction is relevant and help rapid mapping effectively. Furthermore, posts are not useful for mapping purposes unless they are correctly geolocated and, on average, less than 2% of posts are natively georeferenced. This paper presents an algorithm, called CIME, that aims to identify and geolocate emergency-related posts that are relevant for mapping purposes. While native geocoordinates are most often missing, many posts contain geographical references in their metadata, such as texts or links that can be used by CIME to filter and geolocate information. In addition, social media creates a social network and each post can be enhanced with indirect information from the post’s network of relationships with other posts (for example, a retweet can be associated with other geographical references which are useful to geolocate the original tweet). To exploit all this information, CIME uses the concept of context, defined as the information characterizing a post both directly (the post’s metadata) and indirectly (the post’s network of relationships). The algorithm was evaluated on a recent major emergency event demonstrating better performance with respect to the state of the art in terms of total number of geolocated posts, geolocation accuracy and relevance for rapid mapping. While tactile maps can be a medium for appropriating this complex space, they benefit from being complemented by audio information. In this paper we propose a data model to describe an intersection, the paths that allow to cross it, and their accessibility attributes. We also present methods to generate this model automatically from OpenStreetMap, by inferring missing data through graph analysis techniques. Finally, we present an implementation, the evaluation of which confirms the ability of the model to generate a compliant description for intersections with enough data.
