[Termes IGN] SIG 3DRésumé : (Auteur) An essential requirement to better understand activity-based travel behavior (ABTB) at the disaggregate level is the development of a spatio-temporal model able to support queries related to activities of individuals or groups of individuals. This paper describes the development and implementation of a temporal extension to a geographic information system (GIS) object-oriented model for the modeling of the time path and the retrieval of its event chaining. In this approach, time path is formulated as a totally time ordered set composed by activity events and trip events, themselves organized into time ordered sets. As sets, the time path and its components can be searched using their respective indexes. A series of methods were built that implement temporal predicates as an interface to temporally query the database. A set of positional operator methods were also designed that transform temporal topological queries into retrieval functions based on set ordering indices. Taken together, the temporal predicates and the positional operator methods define a temporal query extension that meets the retrieval needs of an ABTB database. [Termes IGN] SIG 3DRésumé : (Auteur) 3-D analysis in GIS is still one of the most challenging topics for research. With the goal being to model possible movement within the built environment, this paper, therefore, proposes a new approach to handling connectivity relationships among 3-D objects in urban environments in order to implement spatial access analyses in 3-D Npace. To achieve this goal, this paper introduces a 3-D network data model called the geometric network model (GNM), which has been developed by transforming the combinatorial data model (CDM), representing a connectivity relationship among 3-D objects using a dual graph. For the transformation, this paper presents (1) an O(n2) algorithm for computing a straight medial axis transformation (MAT), (2) the processes for transforming phenomena from 3-D CDM to 3-D GNM, and (3) spatial access algorithms for the 3-D geometric network based upon the Dijkstra algorithm. Using the reconstructed geometric network generated from the transformations, spatial queries based upon the complex connectivity relationships between 3-D urban entities are implemented using Dijkstra algorithm. Finally, the paper presents the results of an experimental implementation of a 3-D network data model (GNM) using GIS data of an area in downtown Columbus, Ohio. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) A Geographic Information System (GIS) populated with disparate data sources has multiple and différent representations of the same real-world object. Often, the type of information in these sources is différent, and combining them to generate one composite representation has many benefits. The first step in this conflation process is to identify the features in different sources that represent the same real-world entity. The matching process is not simple, since the identified features from different sources do not always match in their location, extent, and description. We present a new approach to matching GIS features from disparate sources. A graph theoretic approach is used to model the geographic context and to determine the matching features from multiple sources. Experiments on implementation of this approach demonstrate its viability. [Termes IGN] positionnement par GPSRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents the results obtained with a new type of spatiotemporal topological dimension implemented within a hypercube, i.e., within a multidimensional database (MDDB) structure formed by the conjunction of several thematic, spatial and temporal dimensions. Our goal is to support efficient SpatioTemporal Exploration and Analysis (STEA) in the context of Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS), the worldwide amateur radio system for position report transmission. Mobile APRS stations are equipped with GPS navigation systems to provide real-time positioning reports. Previous research about the multidimensional approach has proved good potential for spatiotemporal exploration and analysis despite a lack of explicit topological operators (spatial, temporal and spatiotemporal). Our project implemented such operators through a hierarchy of operators that are applied to pairs of instances of objects. At the top of the hierarchy, users can use simple operators such as "same place", "same time" or "same time, same place". As they drill down into the hierarchy, more detailed topological operators are made available such as "adjacent immediately after", "touch during" or more detailed operators. This hierarchy is structured according to four levels of granularity based on cognitive models, generalized relationships and formal models of topological relationships. In this paper, we also describe the generic approach which allows efficient STEA within the multidimensional approach. Finally, we demonstrate that such an implementation offers query run times which permit to maintain a "train-of-thought" during exploration and analysis operations as they are compatible with Newell's cognitive band (query runtime Numéro de notice : A2004-311 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2003.12.002 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2003.12.002 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26838
