[Termes IGN] TaïwanRésumé : (auteur) The Meinong earthquake generated up to ~10 cm surface displacement located 10 - 35 km west of the epicenter and monitored by InSAR and GPS. In addition to coseismic deformation related to the deep earthquake source, InSAR revealed three sharp surface displacement gradients. One of them is extensional and is inconsistent with the westward interseismic shortening of ~45 mm yr-1 in this region. The gradient sharpness suggests slip triggering on shallow structures, some of which were not well documented before. To characterize these shallow structures, we investigated potential surface ruptures in the field. Sets of ~NS tension cracks distributed over 25 - 300 m width, with cumulative extension in the same order as InSAR observations, were found along 5.5 km distance along the extensional gradient and are interpreted as surface rupture. We build two E-W regional balanced cross-sections, based on surface geology, subsurface data, and coseismic and interseismic geodetic data. From the Coastal Plain to the east edge of the coseismic deformation area, we propose a series of three active west-dipping backthrusts: the Houchiali fault, the Napalin-Pitou backthrust, and the Lungchuan backthrust. They all root on the 3.5 - 4.0 km deep Tainan detachment located near the base of the 3-km-thick Gutingkeng mudstone. Further east, the detachment would ramp down to ~7 km depth. Coseismic surface deformation measurements suggest that, in addition to the deeper (15 - 20 km) main rupture plane, mostly the ramp, the Lungchuan backthrust, and the Tainan detachment were activated during or right after the earthquake. Local extension is considered as transient deformation at the west edge of the shallow main slip zone. [Termes IGN] polarimétrie radarRésumé : (Auteur) Estimation of vegetation covered soil moisture with satellite images is still a challenging task. Several models are available for soil moisture retrieval in which water cloud model (WCM) is most common. But, it requires an estimation of accurate vegetation parameterization. Thus, there is a need to develop such an approach for soil moisture retrieval which minimize these limitations. Therefore, this paper deals with the soil moisture retrieval using fully polarimetric SAR data by fusing the information from different bands. Various polarimetric indices and observables were critically analysed, and found that the index; SPAN (total scattered power) gives better information of vegetation cover as compared to other indices/observables. Based on this, WCM model has been modified using SPAN as parameter and soil moisture content were retrieved. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) This paper critically analyzes several incoherent model-based decomposition methods for assessing the effect of deorientation in characterization of various land covers. It has been found that even after performing decomposition, ambiguity still occurs in scattering response from various land covers, such as urban and vegetation. Researchers introduced the concept of deorientation to remove this ambiguity. Therefore, in this paper, a critical analysis has been carried out using seven different three- and four-component decomposition methods with and without deorientation and two Eigen decomposition-based methods to investigate the scattering response on various land covers, such as urban, vegetation, bare soil, and water. The comprehensive evaluation of decomposition and deorientation effect has been performed by both visual and quantitative analyses. Two types of quantitative analysis have been performed; first, by observing percentage of scattering power and second, by analyzing the variation in the number of pixels in different land covers for each scattering contribution. The analysis shows that deorientation increases not only the power but also the number of pixels for surface and double bounce scattering. The number of pixels representing volume scattering remain almost the same for all the methods with or without deorientation, whereas volume scattering power reduces after deorientation. Eigen decomposition-based methods are observed to solve the problem of overestimation of volume scattering power. [Termes IGN] tectoniqueRésumé : (Auteur) The Cerro Prieto geothermal field (CPGF) lies at the step-over between the imperial and the Cerro Prieto faults in northern Baja California, Mexico. While tectonically this is the most active section of the southern San Andreas Fault system, the spatial and temporal deformation in the area is poorly resolved by the sparse global positioning system (GPS) network coverage. Moreover, interferograms from satellite observations spanning more than a few months are decorrelated due to the extensive agricultural activity in this region. Here we investigate the use of frequent, short temporal baseline interferograms offered by the new Sentinel-1A satellite to recover two components of deformation time series across these faults. Following previous studies, we developed a purely geometric approach for image alignment that achieves better than 1/200 pixel alignment needed for accurate phase recovery. We construct interferometric synthetic aperture radar time series using a coherence-based small baseline subset method with atmospheric corrections by means of common-point stacking. We did not apply enhanced spectral diversity because the burst discontinuities are generally small ( Numéro de notice : A2017-662 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1109/TGRS.2017.2704593 En ligne : http://dx.doi.org/10.1109/TGRS.2017.2704593 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=87104

[Termes IGN] tenseurRésumé : (Auteur) Deformation monitoring by multipass synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) is, so far, the only imaging-based method to assess millimeter-level deformation over large areas from space. Past research mostly focused on the optimal retrieval of deformation parameters on the basis of a single pixel or a pixel cluster. Only until recently, the first demonstration of object-based urban infrastructure monitoring by fusing InSAR and the semantic classification labels derived from optical images was presented by Wang et al. Given such classification labels in the SAR image, we propose a general framework for object-based InSAR parameter retrieval, where the parameters of the whole object are jointly estimated by the inversion of a regularized tensor model instead of pixelwise. Our approach does not assume the stationarity of each sample in the object, which is usually assumed in other pixel cluster-based methods, such as SqueeSAR. In addition, to handle outliers in real data, a robust phase recovery step prior to parameter retrieval is also introduced. In typical settings, the proposed method outperforms the current pixelwise estimators, e.g., periodogram, by a factor of several tens in the accuracy of the linear deformation estimates. Last but not least, for a practical demonstration on bridge monitoring, we present a full workflow of long-term bridge monitoring using the proposed approach.
