[Termes IGN] web sémantiqueRésumé : (auteur) Climate science has become more ambitious in recent years as global awareness about the environment has grown. To better understand climate, historical climate(e.g. archived meteorological variables such as temperature, wind, water, etc.) and climate-related data (e.g. geographical features and human activities) are widely used by today’s climate research to derive models for an explainable climate change and its effects. However, such data sources are often dispersed across a multitude of disconnected data silos on the Web. Moreover, there is a lack of advanced climate data platforms to enable multi-source heterogeneous climate data analysis, therefore, researchers must face a stern challenge in collecting and analyzing multi-source data. In this paper, we address this problem by proposing a climate knowledge graph for the integration of multiple climate data and other data sources into one service, leveraging Web technologies (e.g. HTTP) for multi-source climate data analysis. The proposed knowledge graph is primarily composed of data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s daily climate summaries, OpenStreetMap, and Wikidata, and it supports joint data queries on these widely used databases. This paper shows, with a use case in Ireland and the United Kingdom, how climate researchers could benefit from this platform as it allows them to easily integrate datasets from different domains and geographical locations. [Termes IGN] web sémantiqueRésumé : (auteur) In the last decades, the use of information management systems in the building data processing led to radical changes to the methods of data production, documentation and archiving. In particular, the possibilities, given by these information systems, to visualize the 3D model and to formulate queries have placed the question of the information sharing in digital format. The integration of information systems represents an efficient solution for defining smart, sustainable and resilient projects, such as conservation and restoration processes, giving the possibilities to combine heterogeneous data. GIS provides a robust data storage system, a definition of topological and semantic relationships and spatial queries. 3D GIS makes possible the creation of three-dimensional model in a geospatial context. To promote the interoperability of GIS data, the present research aims first to analyse methods of conversion in CityGML and IndoorGML model, defining an ontological domain. This has led to the creation of a new enriched model, based on connections among the different elements of the urban model in GIS environment, and to the possibility to formulate queries based on these relations. The second step consists in collecting all data translated into a specific format that fill a graph database in a semantic web environment, while maintaining those relationships. The semantic web technology represents an efficient tool of interoperability that leaves open the possibility to import BIM data in the same graph database and to join both GIS and BIM models. The outcome will offer substantial benefits during the entire project life cycle. This methodology can also be applied to cultural heritage where the information management plays a key role. [Termes IGN] toponymeRésumé : (Auteur) The Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature (GPN) is maintained by the International Astronomical Union Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature. It contains the internationally approved forms of place names of planetary and lunar surface features. In the last decades, spacefaring and other nations have started to develop local standardized equivalents of the GPN. This initiated the development of transformation methods and created a need for auxiliary information on the names in the GPN that is not available from the database of the GPN. The creation of ‘localized’ (local language) variants of the GPN in non-Roman scripts is an unavoidable necessity, but is also a cultural need. This paper investigates the localization methods into Chinese and Russian; two nations with different scripts, and two that are spacefaring ones. The need for the creation of a localized GPN is related to the local importance of scientific papers published in the local language and the existence of locally developed and operated scientific planetary spacecraft, but exceptions exist. [Termes IGN] télémètre laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) data provide 3-D measurements of vegetation structure and have the potential to support the calibration and validation of satellite and airborne sensors. The increasing range of different commercial and scientific TLS instruments holds challenges for data and instrument interoperability. Using data from various TLS sources will be critical to upscale study areas or compare data. In this paper, we provide a general framework to compare the interoperability of TLS instruments. We compare three TLS instruments that are the same make and model, the RIEGL VZ-400. We compare the range accuracy and evaluate the manufacturer's radiometric calibration for the uncalibrated return intensities. Our results show that the range accuracy between instruments is comparable and within the manufacturer's specifications. This means that the spatial XYZ data of different instruments can be combined into a single data set. Our findings demonstrate that radiometric calibration is instrument specific and needs to be carried out for each instrument individually before including reflectance information in TLS analysis. We show that the residuals between the calibrated reflectance panels and the apparent reflectance measured by the instrument are greatest for highest reflectance panels (residuals ranging from 0.058 to 0.312).
