[Termes IGN] reconstruction 3D du bâtiRésumé : (Editeur) 3D city models, as we know them today, originate from traditional models not only relies on the traditional model maker'art but still more on the art and techniques for creating city maps. Maps of cities have always been resources for architectural research and creating 3D reconstructions. The author gives examples on the use of maps for creating 3D reconstructions of cities. [Termes IGN] texture d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and texture mapping of buildings or other man-made objects are key aspects for 3D city landscapes. An effective coarse-to-fine approach for 3D building model generation and texture mapping based on digital photogrammetric techniques is proposed. Three video image sequences, two oblique views of building walls and one vertical view of building roofs, acquired by a digital video camera mounted on a helicopter are used as input images. Lidar data and a coarse two-dimensional (2D) digital vector map used for car navigation are also used as information sources. Automatic aerial triangulation (AAT) suitable for a high overlap image sequence is used to give initial values of camera parameters of each image. To obtain accurate image lines, the correspondence between outlines of the building and their line-features in the image sequences is determined with a coarse-to-fine strategy. A hybrid point/line bundle adjustment is used to ensure the stability and accuracy of reconstruction. Reconstructed buildings with fine textures superimposed on a digital elevation model (DEM) and ortho-image are realistically visualised. Experimental results show that the proposed approach of 3D city model generation has a promising future in many applications. [Termes IGN] visualisation 3DRésumé : (Auteur) Geovisualization offers powerful tools, techniques, and strategies to present, explore, analyze, and manage geoinformation. Interactive geovirtual environments such as virtual 3D maps or virtual 3D city models, however, raise the question how to control geodata usage and distribution. We present a concept for embedding digital rights in geovisualizations. It is based on geo-documents, an object-oriented scheme to specify a wide range of geovisualizations. Geo-documents are assembled by building blocks categorized into presentation, structure, interaction, animation, and Digital Rights Management (DRM) classes. DRM objects allow for defining permissions and constraints for all objects contained in geo-documents. In this way, authors of geovisualizations can control how their geo-documents are used personalized, and redistributed by users. The strengths of the presented concept include the ability to integrate heterogeneous 2D and 3D geodata within a compact design scheme and the ability to cope with privacy, security, and copyright issues. Embedded digital rights in geovisualizations can be applied to improve the usability of geodata user interfaces, to implement publisher-subscriber communication systems for geodata, and to establish business model for geodata trading systems. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper a concept for controlling the usage of geovirtual environments by means of constraints is developed. Constraints serve to improve the usability of geovirtual environments by guarding the navigation and interaction processes of users. In addition, they facilitate the implementation of Digital Rights Management for geovirtual environments. The presented approach distinguishes spatial constraints, structural constraints, and redistribution constraints. Several types of spatial constraints have been identified for navigation in geovirtual environments. To demonstrate their applications, this paper reports on using constraints in virtual 3D city models. [Termes IGN] modèle 3D de l'espace urbainRésumé : (Auteur) Modelling urban objects and phenomena puts extremely high demands on the acquisition and analysis of the necessary data. In this context, digital airborne camera systems offer very high spatial resolutions and the simultaneous acquisition of elevation data-either through stereo-matching or by laser scanning. However, with these data the user community faces new problems in their analysis. In response, region-based classification approaches have been developed, but these are not yet fully automatic, reliable and transferable. Hence, this paper proposes a novel hybrid and multi-scale methodology which performs a classification on all segmented levels (called 'Classification on multiple Segment levels', ComS). First investigations validate the applicability as well as the accuracy of the proposed methodology compared with conventional approaches, such as a supervised, pixel-based maximum likelihood classification.
