[Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we identify two distinct notions of accuracy of land-use models and highlight a tension between them. A model can have predictive accuracy: its predicted land-use pattern can be highly correlated with the actual land-use pattern. A model can also have process accuracy : the process by which locations or land-use patterns are determined can be consistent with real world processes. To balance these two potentially conflicting motivations, we introduce the concept of the invariant region, i.e., the area where land-use type is almost certain, and thus path independent; and the variant region, i.e., the area where land use depends on a particular series of events, and is thus path dependent. We demonstrate our methods using an agent-based land-use model and using multitemporal land-use data collected for Washtenaw County, Michigan, USA. The results indicate that, using the methods we describe, researchers can improve their ability to communicate how well their model performs, the situations or instances in which it does not perform well, and the cases in which it is relatively unlikely to predict well because of either path dependence or stochastic uncertainty. [Termes IGN] traitement de données GNSSIndex. décimale : 30.61 Systèmes de Positionnement par Satellites du GNSS Résumé : (Auteur) Geodetic observations are usually processed by means of the Least Squares Method. However, this algorithm delivers reliable valuations of unknown parameters und associated accuracy measures only if the functional and stochastic models are appropriate. Observations using the Global Positioning System (GPS) are affected by various influences, e.g. by the atmosphere. Hence, it seems to be a reasonable conclusion that the commonly used stochastic model of GPS-observations with a scaled identity matrix with homoscedastic (i.e. equal variance) and uncorrelated errors is not adequate. The knowledge of the stochastic behaviour of GPS-observations can be improved by analyzing time series of residuals originating from Least Squares evaluation. Based on this analysis a procedure for modifying the covariance matrix of double-differenced GPS carrier-phase observations is presented. Essentially, it consists of two steps. At first individual variance functions for all double-difference observations depending on the satellite elevation for modifying the main diagonal of its covariance matrix are estimated. Secondly, temporal correlations are determined to adapt the other parts of the covariance matrix. All steps are verified by suitable statistical tests. The procedure is applied to extensive data sets with different characteristics. The results of the evaluation process, taking into account all realizations of the stochastic model mentioned above, are presented. It is shown that modifying the main diagonal of the covariance matrix with elevation-dependent variance functions leads to significant changes in the estimated ellipsoidal height of GPS-stations only for long baselines. The accuracy measures are not affected by this modification. In contrast to these results, considering temporal correlations in the covariance matrix of GPS-double difference observations causes distinct changes in the accuracy measures of all coordinate components independently of the baseline length. [Termes IGN] régression non linéaireIndex. décimale : 30.60 Géodésie spatiale Résumé : (Auteur) One important task of engineering geodesy is the evaluation of measurements by suitable models and the validation and optimisation of these models. Currently more complex and non-linear models are used in engineering geodesy. Therefore a model independent validation method, the variance-based sensitivity analysis method is introduced and applied to moving objects. An overview about different sensitivity analysis methods is given. Thereby the focus is on sample-based methods, that base on Monte-Carlo simulation. First of all the regression analysis and the rank regression analysis are described. These methods are used for the sensitivity analysis of linear respectively non-linear but monotone models. Subsequently the importance of a sensitivity analysis methods that are independent of model characteristics is shown. These are SOBOLs method, that uses multidimensional averaging to get quantitative results and the FOURIER Amplitude Sensitivity Test, that realises the same in the frequency domain. The presented methods are applied for two examples. Firstly the configuration for the height monitoring of a church is validated. Secondly the determination of a trajectory of motor vehicle using a circle model is controlled. For both applications adapted KALMAN filter algorithms are used. For the height monitoring problem a non-linear model behaviour can not be proved. Besides it can be shown that the variances of some height points have a decisive influence on the variances of the estimated movement parameters. For the second application, the analysis shows that the variances of the state parameters of the trajectory determination are effected decisively by the variances of the GPS coordinates. The model shows a non-linear as well as a non-additive behaviour. [Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéIndex. décimale : 30.61 Systèmes de Positionnement par Satellites du GNSS Résumé : (Auteur) Fast and high precision relative positioning with a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is only possible by using the very precise carrier phase measurements. However, these carrier phases are ambiguous by an unknwon number of cycles. The knowledge that the ambiguities are integer-valued has been exploited in the past 15 years for the development of integer ambiguity resolution algorithms. Once the ambiguities are fixed to their integer values, the carrier phase measurements start to act as if they were very precise pseudorange measurements. [...] Nowadays, the non-trivial problem of integer ambiguity estimation can be considered solved. However, a parameter estimation theory is not complete without the appropriate measures to validate the solution. [...] Obviously, validation of the integer ambiguity solution is still an open problem. Two approaches are investigated here. The first method uses a new ambiguity estimator, the Best Integer Equivariant (BIE) estimator. [...] It was shown that the BIE estimator significantly outperforms the float or fixed solution only in a limited number of cases. Therefore, another new class of integer estimators is investigated : the class of Integer Aperture (IA) estimators. [...] IA estimation has several important advantages. [...] Finally, it is shown that the popular ratio test perform almost as good as the optimal IA estimator if the fixed fail rate approach is used. [...] Note de contenu : 1 Introduction
