Note de contenu : 1) Contexte du stage

[Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (auteur) Today, new earth observation missions are designed from satellite to ground segment to best fit the end-user needs while reducing the overall costs and complexity. Furthermore, an efficient use of high resolution image data is only possible if its location is accurate enough. The accuracy of the image location model depends on the knowledge of platform and orbital parameters (instruments calibration, satellite orbit and pointing) and also of the ground elevation (Digital Elevation Model). Good accuracy can be ensured by stringent requirements on onboard equipments (GPS, gyro, ...) but also by appropriate ground processing which is easier and less expensive to setup. This paper describes and evaluates an automatic method to improve location models during ground processing. This method has been implemented and tested at CNES for current and new missions (such as SPOT/FORMOSAT image ortho-rectification, Pleiades-HR images mosaicking or Venμs images time-series generation). These results must be considered for future missions designing. [Termes IGN] texture d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) The three-dimensional building model is one of the most important components in a cyber city implementation. Currently, however, most building models do not have sufficient and accurate texture information. The lack of texture not only makes 3D building models less realistic in visualization, it may also fail to provide needed information in intricate applications. This study developed a polygon-based texture mapping system to produce near photo-realistic texture mappings for 3D building models. Textures of building exteriors were generated from mosaics of close-range photographs acquired with commodity digital cameras. The developed system integrated multiple digital photographs to create texture mosaics that were continuous in geometric outlines and smooth in colour shadings, and correctly mapped them onto corresponding building model façades. A test example demonstrated that the resultant building model had more complete and accurate texture features as well as a near-photo-realistic appearance. Time-sensitive applications such as oil spills flood monitoring can now access high-accuracy radar orthos as soon as data is available. These applications and more are now possible with the successful operation of the ALOS satellite. [Termes IGN] orthophotoplan numériqueRésumé : (Auteur) A software program has been developed to generate true orthophotographs using multispectral and lidar data. To accomplish this, the obscured points were first identified in the acquired conventional orthophotographs. Next, the obscured points were replaced with corresponding unobscured points from the neighbouring orthophotographs. Finally, the resulting orthophotographs were merged into a mosaic. This paper provides insight into the generation procedure, developed methods and results obtained in the course of the creation of the digital true orthophotograph.
