Therefore, we start with an axial symmetric ground state, which rotates uniformly and rigidly around its axis of symmetry. We define this ground state by solving Clairaut's equation with the spherical mass density given by a modified PREM-model, calculated from seismic observations. External forces will perturb this ground state and, therefore, result in a displacement field d which describes the perturbation. The displacement field fulfills the linearised momentum equation on the domain, which is approximately ellipsoidal. We reduce the linearised momentum equation together with its boundary condition from the ellipsoid to the mean sphere of the earth. It is solved by expansion into spherical harmonics, scanning in the radial direction and direct numerical integration in the time domain. The calculated displacement field describes both the time-dependent deformation and variation of rotation of the earth. We separate them by defining different types of rotation, either depending on the global trajectory (Tisserand System) or the local rotation (vorticity). Both types of rotation are calculated and compared for the surface of the earth as well as the whole earth. The appendices give an overview of the mathematical details and the foundations of continuum mechanics. [Termes IGN] rotation de la TerreIndex. décimale : 30.10 Systèmes de référence et réseaux géodésiques Résumé : (Auteur) The aim of this thesis is to analyse the functional model of geodetic astronomy with regard to the usually assumed hypotheses concerning known star coordinates, known earth orientation and the various reductions commonly applied. The removal of these hypotheses leads to an integrated model of geodetic astronomy, in which star coordinates, earth orientation parameters and other parameters have to be determined as additional unknowns. The consequent rank deficiency raises the question of estimable quantities and the datum establishment for appropriate celestial and terrestrial reference frames, the earth being regarded as a deformable body.
After a preparatory chapter on the algebraic structure of geodesy, on general concepts of defining reference frames for the terrestrial and the celestial domains and on the role of functional models of different approximation degrees, as a basis for the subsequent considerations a systematic presentation of the traditional solution without reduction effects is given in the form of a commutative diagram of transformations between natural reference frames defined by a sequence of fundamental vectors (gravity, rotation, ecliptic normal vectors) resulting in a basic equation of geodetic astronomy in matrix form. This equation is then generalized in several steps including 1. star coordinates and the earth orientation angle as unknowns, 2. the effects of precession / nutation, polar motion, proper motion, parallax, stellar aberration, and refraction, 3. unknown disturbances for all the quantities, which are known only by a model. The effects of deformation of the earth and its gravity field on astronomical observations are discussed. Rotation is defined differentially by the vorticity vector.
Finally a new conception of reference frames is suggested, where the traditional hierarchy based on a set of fundamental vectors is completely replaced by three "conventional " reference frames, namely 1. a local ground-fixed frame, in which directional observations are performed, 2. a global earth-fixed frame, to which point coordinates and terrestrial direction parameters are referred, and 3. a universal space-fixed frame, to which star coordinates are referred. The relative orientations of these three reference frames have to be described by three time-depending parameters respectively.
Throughout the paper, the motion of the earth is regarded cinematically within the model of Newtonian mechanics.Numéro de notice : 28124 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=63471 Réservation
