[Termes IGN] rayonnement électromagnétiqueRésumé : (Auteur) During the messinian recession, 5,5M years ago, Mediterranean Sea was 1.500 m lower than to-day. It explains the formation of caves under the actual sea level. The author describes the exploration and survey of two sunken subterranean rivers, close to Cassis (France). He describes also the use of a new topographical equipment to survey inside the sea: the Cobra Tac, an acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP). Integrating the data from a Doppler Velocity Log (DVL), fluxgate compass, and pressure transducer with Cobra-Tac's on board navigation computer allows a diver to map the bottom topography. The result of this testing survey is given. [Termes IGN] transformation de FourierRésumé : (Auteur) The Radiative Heating in Underexplored Bands Campaign-II, conducted in 2009 from a high-altitude site in northern Chile, combined ground-based radiometry with radiosonde measurements of atmospheric state, for the purpose of testing atmospheric radiation models under conditions strongly influenced by water vapor in the middle to upper troposphere. A suite of broadband Fourier transform spectrometers (FTSs) measured the entire terrestrial thermal radiance spectrum from 1000- to 3.3-um wavelength. The submillimeter portion of the spectrum, from 1000 to 85 um (300-3500 GHz) was covered by a polarizing FTS referred to as the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) FTS. Here, we describe data processing and radiometric calibration algorithms for this instrument. These include correction of interferograms for periodic sampled lag error, development of a temperature-dependent instrument calibration model, and principal component analysis of the complete set of spectra acquired during the campaign. [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) Seasonal signals in GPS time series are of great importance for understanding the evolution of regional mass fluctuations, i.e., ice, hydrology, and ocean mass. Conventionally these signals (quasi-annual and semi-annual signals) are modeled by least-squares fitting harmonic terms with a constant amplitude and phase. In reality, however, such seasonal signals are modulated, i.e., they will have a time-variable amplitude and phase. Recently, Davis et al. (2012) proposed a Kalman filter based approach to capture the stochastic seasonal behavior of geodetic time series. Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) is a non-parametric method, which uses time domain data to extract information from short and noisy time series without a priori knowledge of the dynamics affecting the time series. A prominent benefit is that trends obtained in this way are not necessarily linear. Further, true oscillations can be amplitude and phase modulated. In this work, we will assess the value of SSA for extracting time-variable seasonal signals from GPS time series. We compare our SSA-based results to those obtained using (1) least-squares analysis and (2) Kalman filtering. Our results demonstrate that SSA is a viable and complementary tool for extracting modulated oscillations from GPS time series. [Termes IGN] température au solRésumé : (Auteur) The Thermal Airborne Hyperspectral Imager (TASI) acquires 32 bands to provide continuous spectral coverage in the wavelength range of 8 to 11.5um. The instrument was used during a field campaign in the City of Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China, in 2010. Land surface temperature and emissivity were measured near simultaneous with the airborne campaign for calibration and validation of the instrument. Radiance calibration was performed band-by-band using calibration coefficients, and atmospheric correction was performed using data from in situ measurements and the MODTRAN model. Surface temperature and emissivity separation were determined using the ASTER temperature-emissivity separation (ASTER_TES) and iterative spectral smooth temperature and emissivity separation (ISSTES) methods. The ASTER_TES method resulted in satisfactory agreement with ground data, with root mean square error (RMSE) values of 2.2 K for temperature and 0.0460 for broad-emissivity. The ISSTES method provided better ground validation results, with a RMSE for temperature of 1.8 K and a RMSE for broad-emissivity of 0.0394. The emissivity shapes acquired by the two methods were very similar. The results have relevance to studies of global climate change, environmental monitoring, classification, feature mining, and target recognition. [Termes IGN] tomographie radarRésumé : (Auteur) Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography is a 3-D imaging modality that is commonly tackled by spectral estimation techniques. Thus, the backscattered power along the cross-range direction can be readily obtained by computing the Fourier spectrum of a stack of multibaseline measurements. In addition, recent work has addressed the tomographic inversion under the framework of compressed sensing, thereby recovering sparse cross-range profiles from a reduced set of measurements. This paper differs from previous publications, in that it focuses on sparse expansions in the wavelet domain while working with the second-order statistics of the corresponding multibaseline measurements. In this regard, we elaborate on the conditions under which this perspective is applicable to forested areas and discuss the possibility of optimizing the acquisition geometry. Finally, we compare this approach with traditional nonparametric ones and validate it by using fully polarimetric L-band data acquired by the Experimental SAR (E-SAR) sensor of the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
