[Termes IGN] surveillance d'ouvrageRésumé : (auteur) Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite constellation allowing positioning in a constantly updated global reference frame for almost any user on the globe. Over the last decade, GPS has been expanded to Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) with the progressive addition of three satellite constellations. This evolution enables a more robust and effective positioning calculation, thus improving the performance and reliability of GNSS-based monitoring systems. In parallel, improvements in GNSS receivers provide higher frequency and precision calculations, with shorter computation time, enabling GNSS techniques to be used both for long-term monitoring of slow displacements, and for the analysis of short term events. This paper explores the performances and possibilities of low-cost GNSS receivers in order to improve structural health monitoring systems of large and flexible structures such as bridges, towers or cooling-towers. Low-cost carrier-phase receivers, coupled with various processing methods and parameters, are evaluated to the extent of characterizing both long term precision and stability, and qualification of short displacements and oscillations. The amplitudes and frequencies of displacements and oscillations tested are selected in accordance with phenomena that may be observed on flexible structures. The use of a high-quality reference station with very short baseline is proven a good alternative over expensive receiver upgrading, with rovers able to qualify abrupt displacements down to 4mm, and accurately monitor oscillations with frequencies up to 0.25Hz and amplitudes down to 1cm with a 1Hz sampling rate. Data acquired from a low-cost receiver installed on the main span of suspended bridge is evaluated in order to highlight quality and reliability of on-site applications, and was found highly correlated to traditional sensors data (resistance temperature detectors, and displacement laser sensors). [Termes IGN] tenseurRésumé : (Auteur) Deformation monitoring by multipass synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) is, so far, the only imaging-based method to assess millimeter-level deformation over large areas from space. Past research mostly focused on the optimal retrieval of deformation parameters on the basis of a single pixel or a pixel cluster. Only until recently, the first demonstration of object-based urban infrastructure monitoring by fusing InSAR and the semantic classification labels derived from optical images was presented by Wang et al. Given such classification labels in the SAR image, we propose a general framework for object-based InSAR parameter retrieval, where the parameters of the whole object are jointly estimated by the inversion of a regularized tensor model instead of pixelwise. Our approach does not assume the stationarity of each sample in the object, which is usually assumed in other pixel cluster-based methods, such as SqueeSAR. In addition, to handle outliers in real data, a robust phase recovery step prior to parameter retrieval is also introduced. In typical settings, the proposed method outperforms the current pixelwise estimators, e.g., periodogram, by a factor of several tens in the accuracy of the linear deformation estimates. Last but not least, for a practical demonstration on bridge monitoring, we present a full workflow of long-term bridge monitoring using the proposed approach. [Termes IGN] température de l'airRésumé : (Auteur) Bridge displacement monitoring is one of the key components of bridge structural health monitoring. Traditional methods, usually based on limited sets of sensors mounted on a given bridge, collect point-like deformation information and have the disadvantage of providing incomplete displacement information. In this paper, a Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) approach is used to monitor the displacements of the Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River high-speed railway bridge. Twenty-nine (29) European Space Agency Sentinel-1A images, acquired from April 25, 2015 to August 5, 2016, were used in the PSI analysis. A total of 1828 measurement points were selected on the bridge. The results show a maximum longitudinal displacement of about 150 mm on each side of the bridge. The measured displacements showed a strong correlation with the environmental temperature at the time the images used were acquired, indicating that they were due to thermal expansion of the bridge. At each pier, a regression model based on the PSI-measured displacements was compared with a model based on in-situ measurements. The good agreement of these models demonstrates the capability of the PSI technique to monitor long-span railway bridge displacements. By comparing the modelled displacements and dozens of PSI measurements, we show how the performance of movable bearings can be evaluated. The high density of the PSI measurement points is advantageous for the health monitoring of the entire bridge Numéro de notice : A2017-335 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2017.03.016 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2017.03.016 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=85492

[Termes IGN] vidéotachéomètreRésumé : (Auteur) Robotic total stations (RTS) are frequently used for the measurement of temperature induced bridge deformations or during load testing of bridges. In experimental setups, total stations have also been used for the measurement of dynamic bridge deformations. However, with standard configurations the measurement rate is not constant and on average an update rate of 7–10Hz can be achieved. This is not sufficient for the vibration monitoring of bridges considering their natural frequencies which are also in the same range. In this paper, we present different approaches to overcome these problems. In the first two approaches we demonstrate how the measurement rate to prisms can be increased to 20Hz to determine vertical deformations of bridges. Critical aspects like the measurement resolution of the automated target tracking and the correct sequence of steering commands are discussed. In another approach we demonstrate how vertical bridge vibrations can be measured using an image assisted total station (IATS) and corresponding processing techniques. The advantage of image-based methods is that structural features of a bridge like bolts can be used as targets. Therefore, no expensive prisms have to be mounted and access to the bridge is not required. All approaches are verified by laboratory investigations and their suitability is proven in a field experiment on a 74m long footbridge. In this field experiment the natural frequencies derived from the total station measurements are compared to the results of accelerometer measurements. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) Using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry to monitor long-term millimeter-level deformation of urban infrastructures, such as individual buildings and bridges, is an emerging and important field in remote sensing. In the state-of-the-art methods, deformation parameters are retrieved and monitored on a pixel basis solely in the SAR image domain. However, the inevitable side-looking imaging geometry of SAR results in undesired occlusion and layover in urban area, rendering the current method less competent for a semantic-level monitoring of different urban infrastructures. This paper presents a framework of a semantic-level deformation monitoring by linking the precise deformation estimates of SAR interferometry and the semantic classification labels of optical images via a 3-D geometric fusion and semantic texturing. The proposed approach provides the first “SARptical” point cloud of an urban area, which is the SAR tomography point cloud textured with attributes from optical images. This opens a new perspective of InSAR deformation monitoring. Interesting examples on bridge and railway monitoring are demonstrated.
