[Termes IGN] VidéogrammétrieRésumé : (Auteur) Positioning of a GPS-equipped (Global Positioning System) moving target was determined by stereo-videogrammetry from two images of cameras where they were placed on another GPS-equipped moving platform. The computed position outputs of target were compared with the relative positions obtained from two GPS receivers. The target, a small square-like pattern, was tracked from a certain distance depending on the base distance between the cameras. The video files were created from acquired images data. These video files were used in real-time computation to get the target image position for every film frame. First, the location of target was computed within video film frames. Since the target cannot be searched on the whole picture, maximum pixel length, which the target can travel on the consecutive film frames was considered as offset. Therefore, the search was made over a small area rather than whole picture. That was improved the performance of positioning. Finally, videogrammetrically computed coordinates for all epochs were compared with GPS-based relative distances to justify performance of relative target positioning results. [Termes IGN] téléphone intelligentRésumé : (Auteur) Smartphones have widened the possibilities for low‐cost close‐range image acquisition for three‐dimensional (3D) modelling. They allow the rapid acquisition of large amounts of data for a wide range of applications. However, the accuracy of the models and the automation possibilities depend on the image acquisition conditions and application requirements. In this study, the accuracy and reliability of the derived photogrammetric 3D models are evaluated on a spherical set‐up for close‐range applications (c.30 cm). Different numbers of images, network configurations, targets, devices and camera calibration methodologies are tested and evaluated. Results show that for this close‐range application high accuracy (0·2 mm) and reliability can be achieved. The number of images did not significantly affect the accuracy but was vital for tie‐point detection and image orientation. The use of artificial targets was found to be the key factor in increasing the final accuracy. In contrast, the image calibration strategy and the characteristics of the imaging device did not have a great impact on the results. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) The potential of close-range photogrammetry (CRP) to compete with terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) to produce dense and accurate point clouds has increased in recent years. The use of CRP for estimating tree diameter at breast height (DBH) has multiple advantages over TLS. For example, point clouds from CRP are similar to TLS, but hardware costs are significantly lower. However, a number of data collection issues need to be clarified before the use of CRP in forested areas is considered effective. In this paper we focused on different CRP data collection methods to estimate DBH. We present seven methods that differ in camera orientation, shooting mode, data collection path, and other important factors. The methods were tested on a research plot comprised of European beeches (Fagus sylvatica L.). The circle-fitting algorithm was used to estimate DBH. Four of the seven methods were capable of producing a dense point cloud. The tree detection rate varied from 49% to 81%. Estimates of DBH produced a root mean square error that varied from 4.41 cm to 5.98 cm. The most accurate method was achieved using a vertical camera orientation, stop-and-go shooting mode, and a path leading around the plot with two diagonal paths through the plot. This method also had the highest rate of tree detection (81%).
