[Termes IGN] SlovaquieRésumé : (Auteur) Since August 2001, the absolute gravimeter FG5#215 has been used for the modernization of the national gravity networks of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Altogether 43 absolute stations were measured, some of them repeatedly. Absolute gravity at 29 stations had already been determined in 1990s by other absolute gravimeters (FG5 or JILAg). Differences of repeated measurements at most of the stations show an unexpected decrease of gravity (up to 22 uGal) over the whole region. An uncertainty assessment of absolute measurements with a special emphasis put on hydrological effects shows a statistical significance of the detected gravity variations at many stations. In this manuscript, three possible reasons of such findings are discussed: (1) a regional geodynamic activity, (2) systematic instrumental errors (offsets), (3) hydrological effects. The analysis and statistics of the gravity differences in context of international comparisons of absolute gravimeters show offsets up to 9 uGal related to data of the JILAg-6 and FG5#107 gravimeters. Data collected in this study demonstrate that considering instrumental and hydrological effects on gravity are crucial for a correct interpretation of repeated absolute gravity measurements. [Termes IGN] République TchèqueRésumé : (Auteur) Open-cast mining activity causes the largest georelief transfigurations all over the world. Large localities in north-west Bohemia (the Czech Republic) are affected. In this area, we focus on a very significant case: the royal town Most, which has been turned into a lake. The main aim of this article is the reconstruction of the original georelief in different time periods together with analysis showing the process of landscape devastation. The workflow and analysis is based on precise elevation data obtained from aerial photographs and old maps. The georelief development is reconstructed using the digitized contour lines contained in Derived state-map 1:5,000 (SMO5) from the years 1953, 1972, and 1980; maps of the 3rd Military Survey (year 1936); and digital surface models (DSM) extracted, using the pixel correlation method, from aerial images (year 1953 and 2008). The most important results of the analysis are digital terrain models showing the evolution of the landscape which may be used for many purposes in landscape development analysis, historical applications, visualization or landscape reclamation. [Termes IGN] utilisateur civilRésumé : (Auteur) In the first decade of this millennium, spatial technologies have shifted from being used only by specialised experts to being present on every one's laptop or cellular device. The data held by special departments, offices and authorities has crossed over into the world of the internet. Concurrent to this process, 'sustainable development' has moved from theory into practice. In the Czech Republic, with its traditionally well-organised approach to spatial planning, it was necessary for the pure, economic-based planning of the 1990s to morph into strategic planning and city management. Along with new attitudes, this also required a new breed of indicators - ones that would be easy for politicians and city inhabitants to understand and visualise. Here, we examine one such case: the use of GIS and three new indicators for spatial and strategic planning for the municipality of Hradec Kralové, a city with 100 000 inhabitants, located in Bohemia. [Termes IGN] zone humideRésumé : (Auteur) The secondary succession of wet grasslands to communities of alder carr dominated by Alnus glutinosa was recorded in different parts of Europe during the 20th century. However, knowledge of such development of alder carr remains insufficient.
The development of alder carr was reconstructed at five sites in the Czech Republic, using historical aerial photographs and methods of dendrochronology. The aims were to investigate the succession from wet grasslands to alder carr at sites previously intensively managed for agriculture and to find out the role of fluctuations in the groundwater table, caused by artificial drainage channels, in the observed stand dynamics and tree growth. The spread of forest (i.e., an increase in forest cover) predominated until the 1970s at all sites. This trend was disrupted by a large-scale dieback of forest stands in four of the five sites after the 1970s, followed by an increase in patch heterogeneity, as indicated by landscape metrics. The radial growth increment in Alnus glutinosa has been affected predominately by local environmental factors, probably including the changing degree of waterlogging. Forest dieback was presumably connected with a lesser extent of drainage channels. Our results indicate that observed successional pathways at sites of alder carr were probably caused by local changes in the groundwater table.
