As one of the most rapidly urbanized cities in Canada, Saskatoon (SK) was selected as our study area. Surface brightness retrieving, Pearson correlation, linear regression modeling, and buffer analysis were applied to different satellite datasets. The results indicate that both Landsat and MODIS data can yield pronounced estimations of daily air temperature with a significantly adjusted R2 of 0.803 and 0.518 at the spatial scales of 120m and 1000 m, respectively. MODIS monthly LST data is highly suitable for monitoring the trend of monthly urban air temperature throughout summer (June, July, and August) due to a high average R2 of 0.8 (P Numéro de notice : A2015-436 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : 10.1515/geo-2015-0005 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1515/geo-2015-0005 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=77036

[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) This abstract illustrates an approach of using big data, visualisation and data mining techniques used to predict and analyse traffic. The objective is to understand Traffic patterns in Dublin City. The prediction model was used as an estimator to identify unusual traffic patterns. The generic model was designed using data mining techniques, multivariate regression algorithms, ARIMA and visually correlated with real-time traffic tweets. Using the prediction model and tweet event detection. The result is a high-performance web application containing over 500,000,000,000 traffic observations that produce analytical dashboard providing traffic prediction and analysis. [Termes IGN] régression linéaireRésumé : (auteur) Biomass assessment of the Mau Forest Ecosystem (MFE) was done as part of Kenya’s greenhouse gas inventory. Trans Mara and Mount Londiani forest blocks representing extremes of vegetation types in the MFE were selected for ground data. Based on canopy closure, four forest strata were identified as very dense, moderately dense, open and bamboo. In each stratum, 5 clusters each with 4 plots measuring 30 m × 30 m were located. Big trees (D1.3 ≥ 10 cm) were measured per species for diameter at breast height (D1.3) in the whole plot while height was measured for every 5th tree. Poles (10 cm > D1.3 ≤ 5) were measured for D1.3 in a 10 × 10 m concentric sub plot. Saplings (5 cm > D1.3; ht ≥ 1.5 m) and seedlings (ht Numéro de notice : A2014-792 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : FORET Nature : Article DOI : 10.4236/oje.2014.410052 En ligne : http://dx.doi.org/10.4236/oje.2014.410052 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=80344

[Termes IGN] théorème de BayesRésumé : (éditeur) This Bayesian modeling book provides a self-contained entry to computational Bayesian statistics. Focusing on the most standard statistical models and backed up by real datasets and an all-inclusive R (CRAN) package called bayess, the book provides an operational methodology for conducting Bayesian inference, rather than focusing on its theoretical and philosophical justifications. Readers are empowered to participate in the real-life data analysis situations depicted here from the beginning. The stakes are high and the reader determines the outcome. Special attention is paid to the derivation of prior distributions in each case and specific reference solutions are given for each of the models. Similarly, computational details are worked out to lead the reader towards an effective programming of the methods given in the book. In particular, all R codes are discussed with enough detail to make them readily understandable and expandable. This works in conjunction with the bayess package. Bayesian Essentials with R can be used as a textbook at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as exemplified by courses given at Université Paris Dauphine (France), University of Canterbury (New Zealand), and University of British Columbia (Canada). It is particularly useful with students in professional degree programs and scientists to analyze data the Bayesian way. The text will also enhance introductory courses on Bayesian statistics. Prerequisites for the book are an undergraduate background in probability and statistics, if not in Bayesian statistics. A strength of the text is the noteworthy emphasis on the role of models in statistical analysis. Note de contenu : 1- User’s Manual
