[Termes IGN] trace numériqueRésumé : (auteur) This paper addresses the issue of quality in the context of collaborative edition of spatial content. The overall approach is grounded on the definition of explicit and adequate specifications for such content, i.e. the data model, the conceptual model, conventions for data acquisition, possible integrity constraints, possible relationships with external reference data. Explicit specifications could be processed to automatically check when different users simultaneously contribute on the same area. Their definition requires expertness, firstly, to ensure spatial content consistency and, secondly, to establish relevant relationships with external reference data. Designing these specifications is not an easy task for contributors. Hence, the focus of this paper is to assist them in this task. We propose a generic process to automatically produce specification items such as feature types, attribute types, and relationship types, including possible relationship types with external reference data from a set of keywords. It exploits information from two different kinds of existing contents: user generated content (like Wikipedia) and more conventional content (like WordNet and NMA databases). It has been applied to keywords found in existing user generated spatial contents. [Termes IGN] variableRésumé : (Auteur) The relationship between two or more variables may change over the geographic space. The change can be in parameter values (e.g., regression coefficients) or even in relation forms (e.g., linear, quadratic, or exponential). Existing local spatial analysis methods often assume a relationship form (e.g., a linear regression model) for all regions and focus only on the change in parameter values. Therefore, they may not be able to discover local relationships of different forms simultaneously. This research proposes a nonparametric approach, a local entropy map, which does not assume a prior relationship form and can detect the existence of multivariate relationships regardless of their forms. The local entropy map calculates an approximation of the Rényi entropy for the multivariate data in each local region (in the geographic space). Each local entropy value is then converted to a p-value by comparing to a distribution of permutation entropy values for the same region. All p-values (one for each local region) are processed by several statistical tests to control the multiple-testing problem. Finally, the testing results are mapped and allow analysts to locate and interactively examine significant local relationships. The method is evaluated with a series of synthetic data sets and a real data set. [Termes IGN] représentation discrèteRésumé : (Auteur) This paper proposes a method of analyzing spatial relations among point distributions on a discrete space. Spatial topology and proximity are discussed in an integrated framework at both local and global scales. Local relations are described by geographical representations, whereas global relations are visualized by graph representations. The latter also provide a means of classifying the point distributions. The proposed method is applied to school location planning in Japan. The results reveal the appealing properties of the method and provide empirical findings. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) In practice, descriptive localities are often communicated using named places and spatial relationships. Uncertainty associated with such descriptions of localities is inevitable, and knowledge of such uncertainty is normally not explicit. When translating descriptive localities into spatially explicit ones, it is critical to circumscribe locations and to estimate the associated uncertainty based on a set of appropriate spatial relationships. In conventional research on qualitative spatial reasoning (QSR), spatial relationships are modeled using formal logic. Unfortunately, QSR cannot deal with the uncertainty of a position. In this paper, based on the conceptual model of spatial assertions, we introduce the uncertainty field model to represent the probability distribution of a point locality. Using probability operations, we can combine a set of assertions to position a locality. Conflicts among assertions for a single locality can be detected based on the resulting field. Since spatial relationships play an important role in the uncertainty of target objects, we investigate conceptually the uncertainty fields associated with various types of spatial relationships (for example, topological, directional and metric). In a concrete application, these uncertainty fields can be customized and used without altering the proposed framework.
