In this article, a model is developed to study the sparsely sampled network-constrained movement of several objects by calculating both potential and feasible (i.e. more likely) co-presence opportunities over time. The approach is applied to the context of a static sensor network, where the location of an object is only registered when passing a sensor location along a road network. Feasibility is incorporated based on the deviation from the shortest path. As an illustration, the model is applied to a large Bluetooth tracking dataset gathered at a mass event. The model output consists of maps showing the temporal evolution of the distribution of feasible co-presence opportunities of tracked visitors over the network (i.e. the number of visitors that could have been present together). We demonstrate the model's usefulness in studying the movement and distribution of a crowd over a study area with relatively few sampling locations. Finally, we discuss the results with a special emphasis on the distinction between feasible and actual presence, the need for further validation and calibration, and the performance of the implementation. [Termes IGN] visualisation 3DRésumé : (auteur) Virtual 3D city models provide powerful user interfaces for communication of 2D and 3D geoinformation. Providing high quality visualization of massive 3D geoinformation in a scalable, fast, and cost efficient manner is still a challenging task. Especially for mobile and web-based system environments, software and hardware configurations of target systems differ significantly. This makes it hard to provide fast, visually appealing renderings of 3D data throughout a variety of platforms and devices. Current mobile or web-based solutions for 3D visualization usually require raw 3D scene data such as triangle meshes together with textures delivered from server to client, what makes them strongly limited in terms of size and complexity of the models they can handle.
This paper introduces a new approach for provisioning of massive, virtual 3D city models on different platforms namely web browsers, smartphones or tablets, by means of an interactive map assembled from artificial oblique image tiles. The key concept is to synthesize such images of a virtual 3D city model by a 3D rendering service in a preprocessing step. This service encapsulates model handling and 3D rendering techniques for high quality visualization of massive 3D models. By generating image tiles using this service, the 3D rendering process is shifted from the client side, which provides major advantages: (a) The complexity of the 3D city model data is decoupled from data transfer complexity (b) the implementation of client applications is simplified significantly as 3D rendering is encapsulated on server side (c) 3D city models can be easily deployed for and used by a large number of concurrent users, leading to a high degree of scalability of the overall approach. All core 3D rendering techniques are performed on a dedicated 3D rendering server, and thin-client applications can be compactly implemented for various devices and platforms.

[Termes IGN] temps réelRésumé : (auteur) Monitoring small size area deformations calls for increasingly precise data with greater space and time resolution. To this aim, a GPS data processing method designed for wireless networks of mono-frequency GPS receivers is proposed. The different steps of the method are explained: the GPS processing is first detailed with the design of parametric and stochastic models, their inversion by an extended Kalman filter and the mitigation of the main errors: multipath. A parsimonious radio data transfer protocol is then proposed. It allows a real-time positioning thanks to a wireless transfer of GPS carrier phases data from receivers to a processing computer. Finally the method is tested on a network of mono-frequency receivers developed by the French National Mapping Agency (IGN). Tests prove its ability for real-time positioning with a fifteen receivers network, and a precision under the centimeter level is reached.
