[Vedettes matières IGN] Inventaire forestierRésumé : (auteur) A recent paper by Ceccherini et al.( 2020a ) reported an abrupt increase of 30% in the French harvested forest area in 2016–2018 compared to 2004–2015. A re-analysis of their data rather led us to conclude that, when accounting for the singular effect of storm Klaus, the rate of change in harvested area depended on the change year used to separate the two periods to compare. Moreover, the comparison with data on harvested volumes from different sources brought contrasted results depending on the source. Therefore, it cannot be concluded that wood harvest increased in France in 2016–2018 compared to 2004–2015. The discrepancy between Ceccherini et al.’s data and other data on harvested volumes points out the difficulty of reconciling different approaches to estimate wood harvest at a country level. [Termes IGN] variation saisonnièreRésumé : (auteur) Significant seasonal fluctuations could occur in the regional scattering characteristics and surface deformation of saline soil, and cause decorrelation, which limits the application of the conventional time-series InSAR (TS-InSAR). For extending the saline-soil deformation monitoring capability, this paper presents an improved TS-InSAR approach, based on the interferometric coherence statistics and high-coherence interferogram refinement. By constructing a network of the refined interferograms, high-accuracy ground deformation can be extracted through the weighted least square estimation and the coherent target refinement. To extract the high-accuracy deformation of a representative saline soil area in the Qarhan Salt Lake, 119 C-band Sentinel-1A images collected between May 2015 and May 2020 are selected as the data source. Subsequently, 845 refined interferograms are selected from all possible interferograms to conduct the network inversion, based on the related thresholds (the temporal baseline 0.5, respectively). Compared with the conventional TS-InSAR measurements, both the accuracy and reliability of the extracted deformation results of the saline soil increased dramatically. Furthermore, the testing results indicate that the improved TS-InSAR method has advantages on the deformation extraction in the saline soil region, and is adaptive to reflecting the typical seasonal variations of the saline soil. [Termes IGN] Vienne (capitale Autriche)Résumé : (auteur) We present a comprehensive methodological framework for structural deformation monitoring of critical infrastructure assets based on differential SAR interferometry. By employing persistent scatterer interferometry, deformation time series in line-of-sight are derived from freely available Sentinel-1 single look complex products. These raw time series are analysed and refined using an extensive post-processing chain to obtain daily rates for vertical and horizontal deformation components. The post-processing includes cleaning, smoothing and a temperature correction to account for different sensing times in ascending and descending orbits. Longitudinal clustering of time series is used to reveal spatial patterns in the single epoch deformation series. Seasonal trend decomposition of the aggregated time series is performed to separate deformation trends from seasonal deformations. The applicability of the framework is showcased at the example of an integral concrete bridge located in the port of Vienna. Results are validated against in situ deformation measurements. The presented framework constitutes a blueprint for the continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure assets using satellite interferometry, which may supplement conventional structural health monitoring. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) Site index (SI) is a common measure of forest site productivity, serving as a valuable baseline for forest management. The main objective of this study was to develop a SI model for Pinus pinaster Ait. in north-west Spain by combining bi–temporal, low–density airborne laser scanning (ALS) data (acquired in the periods 2009–2011 and 2015–2017) with climatic, edaphic and physiographical data. Site productivity, assessed by site quality curves, was modelled using an age-independent difference equation method based on ALS metrics and environmental variables. For the model development process, we used data from 156 sample plots in pure and even-aged P. pinaster stands distributed throughout Galicia (NW Spain) and measured in the Spanish National Forest Inventory (SNFI). The generalized algebraic difference approach (GADA) formulation was tested by using two different base equations for modelling the dominant height growth (ΔH) from ALS variables. The GADA formulation derived from the Bertalanffy’s base model produced the best estimates of dominant height (H) for P. pinaster stands in Galicia. Use of the proposed model to estimate ΔH for a new pine stand requires two ALS data sets for estimating site-specific (local) parameters. To enable use of the model when such information is not available, the relationship between the values of the site-specific parameter and environmental variables was described using Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS). Use of the MARS equation enabled us to develop spatially-explicit predictive maps of the site-specific parameter values, which can be used together with the GADA model to derive ΔH curves and SI estimates for P. pinaster stands in the whole study region. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) The study objective is to predict the epidemiological impact of dengue fever arbovirosis in urban tropical areas of Pakistan. To do so, we used the GPS-based data of the Aedes larvae collected during 2014–2015 in Lahore. We developed a Geographically Weighted Logistic Regression (GWLR) model for Geospatially predicting larvae presence or absence in Lahore. Data on rainfall, temperature are included along with time series of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) derived from Landsat imagery. We observed a high spatial variability of the GWLR parameter estimates of these variables in the study area. The GWLR model significantly (R2a = 0.78) explained the presence or absence of Aedes larvae with temperature, rainfall and NDVI variables in South and Southeast of the study area. In the North and North-West, however, GWLR relationships were observed weak in highly populated areas. Interpolating GWLR coefficients generate more accurate maps of Aedes larvae presence or absence.
