[Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (Auteur) A new approach is presented for mapping 3-D surface displacement caused by subsurface fluid volumetric change based on 1-D interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) line-of-sight measurements and surface deformation modeling. The relationship between surface deformation and source fluid volumetric change is modeled according to elastic half-space theory. A distinctive advantage of the proposed approach is that it effectively extends the capability of the sun-synchronous orbit side-looking synthetic aperture radar that has been essentially only able to measure 1-D displacements accurately or at most 2-D displacements when InSAR measurements from more than one orbit or platform are combined. Experimental studies are carried out with both simulated and real data sets to test the performance of the method. The results have demonstrated that the approach works very well. [Vedettes matières IGN] CartologieRésumé : (Auteur) Findings of empirical studies of spatial memory using maps are direct responses to the successful transfer and processing of map information. The memory performance of map users is an important indication of the quality of a map design. Studies of spatial memory have mainly relied on recall performances, but maps can be used in various ways depending on the map user's task and applied strategy. Therefore, one memory paradigm does not cover the entire spectrum of options for examining the retrieval of map information. Three different experiments were designed to analyze and compare memory performances using different map information in recall and recognition (combining episodic and semantic memory) paradigms. The results demonstrate that map complexity, as varied by the amount of displayed map detail, contributes significantly to memory performance. Moreover, memory enhancement affected by map-structuring elements (grids) depends on the respective paradigm and also on the visual appearance of the structuring elements. Both paradigms for examining the influence of map information on cognitive processing can be applied specifically to analyze the efficiency of map designs. On the basis of the different effects of map information, a reasoned application of these paradigms to test map designs is indispensable. [Termes IGN] théorie de Dempster-ShaferRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, we focus on the classification of lidar point cloud data acquired via mobile laser scanning, whereby the classification relies on a context model based on a Conditional Random Field (CRF). We present two approximate inference algorithms based on belief propagation, as well as a graph-cut-based approach not yet applied in this context. To demonstrate the performance of our approach, we present the classification results derived for a standard benchmark dataset. These results clearly indicate that the graph-cut-based method is able to retrieve a labeling of higher likelihood in only a fraction of the time needed for the other approaches. The higher likelihood, in turn, translates into a significant gain in the accuracy of the obtained classification. [Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (Auteur) Within the last decade, GNSS Precise Point Positioning (PPP) has generated unprecedented interest among the GNSS community and is being used for a number of scientific and commercial applications today. Similar to the conventional relative positioning technique, PPP could provide positioning solutions at centimeter-level precision by making use of the precise carrier phase measurements and high-accuracy satellite orbits and clock corrections provided by, for example, the International GNSS Service. The PPP technique is attractive as it is computationally efficient; it eliminates the need for simultaneous observations at both the reference and rover receivers; it also eliminates the needs for the rover receiver to operate within the vicinity of the reference receiver; and it provides homogenous positioning quality within a consistent global frame anywhere in the world with a single GNSS receiver. Although PPP has definite advantages for many applications, its merits and widespread adoption are significantly limited by the long convergence time, which restricts the use of the PPP technique for many real-time GNSS applications. We provide an overview of the current performance of PPP as well as attempt to address some of the common misconceptions of this positioning technique—considered by many as the future of satellite positioning and navigation. Given the upcoming modernization and deployment of GNSS satellites over the next few years, it would be appropriate to address the potential impacts of these signals and constellations on the future prospect of PPP.
