[Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (Auteur) This article deals with the results of a user study, which aimed to compare two geovisualization interfaces (one interactive and one animated and interactive) displaying the chain of events during past major floods. Some limitations were identified concerning the variables measured (accuracy and speed of answer) and the tasks to be performed by users. Results have shown that the two common metrics used in map evaluations seem not to be sufficient to reveal differences between map types. Other metrics extracted from the participants’ interaction logs have been used successfully. Finally, to decrease the variability between the results of experiments and to make them more comparable with previous tests, one solution might be to develop and share reference data sets and sets of tasks in several themes, with known cognitive complexities, as is already done in other research fields. [Termes IGN] variable visuelleRésumé : (Auteur) On the basis of initial studies devoted to a better understanding of how the public user (a pedestrian in the city) perceives cartographic symbols in the mobile augmented reality system, we present an attempt to determine the threshold values of differentiation for three visual variables. The variables of size, transparency, and focus were implemented into image point symbols representing five types of objects. The set of symbols was designed in accordance with the rules of cartographic design taking into consideration an analysis of 19 professional tourist works. The symbols were presented on the screen of a mobile device in a system imitating the augmented reality system against four different backgrounds: white, a wall, and two typical urban landscapes. The results of an internet survey conducted using a tablet at four locations in Poznan (Poland) allowed us to determine the following: threshold differentiation values for the analysed variables, indication of the dependence on the type of background displayed on the mobile device in augmented reality, and the advantage of using a combination of visual variables. [Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (auteur) In scientific research, reproducibility and replicability are requirements to ensure the advancement of our body of knowledge. This holds true also for VGI-related research and studies. However, the characteristics of VGI suggest particular difficulties in ensuring reproducibility and replicability. In this article, we aim to examine the current situation in VGI-related research, and identify strategies to ensure realization of its full potential. To do so, we first investigate the different aspects of reproducibility and replicability and their impact on VGI-related research. These impacts are different depending on the objectives of the study. Therefore, we examine the study focus of VGI-related research to assess the current body of research and structure our assessment. This work is based on a rigorous review of the elements of reproducibility and a systematic mapping and analysis of 58 papers on the use of VGI in the crisis management field. Results of our investigation show that reproducibility issues related to data are a serious concern, while reproducibility issues related to analysis methods and processes face fewer challenges. However, since most studies still focus on analyzing the source data, reproducibility and replicability are still an unsolved problem in VGI-related research. Therefore, we show initiatives tackling the problem, and finally formulate strategies to improve the situation. [Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (auteur) We evaluate the performance of Galileo broadcast NeQuick model by comparing it with GPS broadcast Klobuchar and the original NeQuick2 models. The broadcast coefficients of Galileo NeQuick model are computed from 23 globally distributed tracking stations of the International GNSS Service (IGS), by ingesting the Global Positioning System (GPS)-derived ionospheric total electron content (TEC) into the original NeQuick2 model. The accuracy of the three ionospheric models is evaluated over both the continental and oceanic regions for the year 2013. In continental regions, ionospheric TEC derived from 34 IGS stations is used as references for comparison. In oceanic regions, where the IGS stations are sparse, high-quality vertical TEC sources provided by JASON-1&2 altimeters are used as references. The evaluation results show that in continental regions, GPS broadcast Klobuchar and the original and broadcast NeQuick can mitigate the ionospheric delay by 56.8, 63.3 and 72.4 %, respectively. In oceanic regions, the three models can correct for 51.1, 61.2 and 68.6 % of the ionospheric delay. Galileo broadcast NeQuick model outperforms Klobuchar by 15.6 and 17.5 % over the continental and oceanic regions, respectively, for the test period. The broadcast NeQuick model can provide accurate ionospheric error corrections when Galileo begins full operational capability.
