[Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (auteur) Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment and Follow On (GRACE/-FO) global monthly measurements of Earth's gravity field have led to significant advances in quantifying mass transfer. However, a significant temporal gap between missions hinders evaluating long-term mass variations. Moreover, instrumental and processing errors translate into large non-physical North-South stripes polluting geophysical signals. We use Multichannel Singular Spectrum Analysis (M-SSA) to overcome both issues by exploiting spatio-temporal information of Level-2 GRACE/-FO solutions, filtered using the DDK7 decorrelation and a new complementary filter, built based on the residual noise between fully processed data and a parametric fit to observations. Using an iterative M-SSA on Equivalent Water Height (EWH) time series processed by Center of Space Research, GeoForschungsZentrum, Institute of Geodesy at Graz University of Technology, and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, we replace missing data and outliers to obtain a combined evenly sampled solution. Then, we apply M-SSA to retrieve common signals between each EWH time series and its same-latitude neighbors to further reduce residual spatially uncorrelated noise. Comparing GRACE/-FO M-SSA solution with Satellite Laser Ranging and Swarm low-degree Earth's gravity field and hydrological model demonstrates its ability to satisfyingly fill missing observations. Our solution achieves a noise level comparable to mass concentration (mascon) solutions over oceans (3.0 mm EWH), without requiring a priori information nor regularization. While short-wavelength signals are challenging to capture using highly filtered spherical harmonics or mascons solutions, we show that our technique efficiently recovers localized mass variations using well-documented mass transfers associated with reservoir impoundments. [Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (auteur) In this paper, we propose an approach to determine seven parameters of the Helmert transformation by transforming the coordinates of a continuous GNSS network from the World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84) to the International Terrestrial Reference Frame. This includes (1) converting the coordinates of common points from the global coordinate system to the local coordinate system, (2) identifying and eliminating outliers by the Dikin estimator, and (3) estimating seven parameters of the Helmert transformation by least squares (LS) estimation with the “clean” data (i.e. outliers removed). Herein, the local coordinate system provides a platform to separate points’ horizontal and vertical components. Then, the Dikin estimator identifies and eliminates outliers in the horizontal or vertical component separately. It is significant because common points in a continuous GNSS network may contain outliers. The proposed approach is tested with the Géoazur GNSS network with the results showing that the Dikin estimator detects outliers at 6 out of 18 common points, among which three points are found with outliers in the vertical component only. Thus, instead of eliminating all coordinate components of these six common points, we only eliminate all coordinate components of three common points and only the vertical component of another three common points. Finally, the classical LS estimation is applied to “clean” data to estimate seven parameters of the Helmert transformation with a significant accuracy improvement. The Dikin estimator’s results are compared to those of other robust estimators of Huber and Theil-Sen, which shows that the Dikin estimator performs better. Furthermore, the weighted total least-squares estimation is implemented to assess the accuracy of the LS estimation with the same data. The inter-comparison of the seven estimated parameters and their standard deviations shows a small difference at a few per million levels (E-6). [Vedettes matières IGN] AltimétrieRésumé : (auteur) Snow is a key parameter for global climate and hydrological systems. Global Navigation Satellite System interferometric reflectometry (GNSS-IR) has been applied to accurately monitor snow height (SH) with low cost and high temporal–spatial resolution. We proposed an improved GNSS-IR method using detrended signal-to-noise ratio (δSNR) arcs corresponding to multipath reflection tracks with different azimuths. After using wavelet decomposition and random sample consensus, noise with various frequencies for SNR arcs and outliers of reflector height (RH) estimations have been sequentially mitigated to enhance the availability of the proposed method. Thus, a height datum based on the ground RHs retrieved from multi-GNSS SNR data is established to compensate for the influence of topography variation with different azimuths in SH retrieval. The approximately 3-month δSNR datasets collected from three stations deployed on sloping topography were used to retrieve SH and compared with the existing method and in situ measurements. The results show that the root mean square errors of the retrievals derived from the proposed method for the three sites are between 4 and 8 cm, and the corresponding correlation surpasses 0.95 when compared to the reference SH datasets. Additionally, we compare the performance of a retrieval with the existing GNSS-IR Web App, and it shows an improvement in RMSE of about 7 cm. Furthermore, because topography variation has been considered, the average correction of SH retrievals is between 2 and 4 cm. The solution with the proposed method helps develop the applications of the GNSS-IR technique on complex topography. [Vedettes matières IGN] AltimétrieRésumé : (auteur) Antalya 2 tide gauge (TG) station is located on the coast of Turkey within the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Relative sea level trends 6.0 ± 1.5 and 6.44 ± 0.45 mm/year over 1985–2009 at Antalya 2 TG are different from the trend (1.6 ± 1.5 mm/year over 1935–1977) at Antalya TG within 10 km. In order to investigate this trend discrepancy, the monthly mean series at Antalya 2 TG is re-analyzed for offsets, outliers and trend estimation. The Zivot-Andrews method and the Qp outlier test result in one offset at 1994.0417 year with magnitude of 71.24 ± 13.48 mm and nine outliers. The series, corrected for the offset and outliers, de-seasonalized and filled for missed points, is identified as trend-stationary process and analyzed for trend estimation by various models. The optimal model providing the lowest Akaike Information Criteria is polynomial linear trend with multiplicative seasonal Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA(2,0)x(1,0)12). The estimated relative sea level trend by the optimal model is 1.77 ± 0.65 mm/year. The large trend discrepancy at Antalya 2 TG is accounted for by one offset primarily (∼71%) and nine outliers (∼3%). [Vedettes matières IGN] Traitement de données GNSSRésumé : (auteur) Double-difference (DD) analysis and precise point positioning (PPP) are two widely used processing approaches to analyze ground-based GNSS measurements. We investigate the quality of the zenith tropospheric delay (ZTD) estimates produced from both processing approaches for a regional network over 1 year and show that DD solutions contain more numerous and larger ZTD outliers. The accuracy of both DD and PPP solutions strongly depends on the data processing procedure and models. We analyze the impact of mapping functions, satellite orbit and clock products and ambiguity resolution (fixed vs. float) on ZTD estimates. The results are assessed from station position repeatability and ZTD differences with respect to the ERA5 reanalysis. As expected, mapping functions have the strongest impact, with VMF1 being more accurate than GMF. Surprisingly, the impact of the ambiguity resolution and satellite products is rather weak in the PPP solution. We speculate that this results from the fact that final satellite products have reached a high level of accuracy and that other error sources now dominate static PPP solutions. A time and frequency analysis reveal unprecedented spurious sub-daily signals in the ZTD time series, which occur at the frequency of the GPS satellite repeat period and its harmonics. This suggests that sub-daily GPS ZTD estimates contain a significant part of the residual modeling errors due to satellite orbits, tidal models, mapping functions and multipath, which still need to be improved.
