[Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (auteur) The concept of reliability was introduced into geodesy by Baarda (A testing procedure for use in geodetic networks. Publications on Geodesy, vol. 2. Netherlands Geodetic Commission, Delft, 1968). It gives a measure for the ability of a parameter estimation to detect outliers and leads in case of one outlier to the MDB, the minimal detectable bias or outlier. The MDB depends on the non-centrality parameter of the χ2-distribution, as the variance factor of the linear model is assumed to be known, on the size of the outlier test of an individual observation which is set to 0.001 and on the power of the test which is generally chosen to be 0.80. Starting from an estimated variance factor, the F-distribution is applied here. Furthermore, the size of the test of the individual observation is a function of the number of outliers to keep the size of the test of all observations constant, say 0.05. The power of the test is set to 0.80. The MDBs for multiple outliers are derived here under these assumptions. The method is applied to the reconstruction of a bell-shaped surface measured by a laser scanner. The MDBs are introduced as outliers for the alternative hypotheses of the outlier tests. A Monte Carlo method reveals that due to the way of introducing the outliers, the false null hypotheses cannot be rejected on the average with a power of 0.80 if the MDBs are not enlarged by a factor. [Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (auteur) Multipath effects caused by reflections in the near-field and far-field of a GNSS antenna represent a major error source in static and kinematic GNSS positioning applications. Since these effects are strongly site-specific, a generally valid and practicable analytical multipath model is still lacking. In contrast, using GNSS carrier phase observation residuals, the multipath stacking (MPS) methods are able to take site-specific conditions into account. We propose an advanced approach to performing residual-based MPS in the space domain. Being superior to most conventional attempts in which stacking cells have a fixed azimuthal resolution, our suggested method makes use of congruent cells and rigorous statistical assessments in terms of outlier detection and significance evaluation of the stacked values. The advanced stacking approach is applied to representative phase residuals from static precise point positioning. The results show that the use of congruent cells allows for MPS at high elevation angles and with a fine spatial resolution. Applying the resulting MPS maps at the residual level, both near-field and far-field effects at high and low elevation angles, respectively, can be significantly mitigated. In comparison with the conventional approach, the advanced one enables a larger reduction of about 20 % in the SD of residuals. Most existing approaches are designed for numerical attributes, but are not applicable to categorical ones (e.g., binary, ordinal, and nominal) that are popular in many applications. The main challenges are the modeling of spatial categorical dependency as well as the computational efficiency. This paper presents the first outlier detection framework for spatial categorical data. Specifically, a new metric, named as Pair Correlation Ratio (PCR), is measured for each pair of category sets based on their co-occurrence frequencies at specific spatial distance ranges. The relevances among spatial objects are then calculated using PCR values with regard to their spatial distances. The outlierness for each object is defined as the inverse of the average relevance between an object and its spatial neighbors. Those objects with the highest outlier scores are returned as spatial categorical outliers. A set of algorithms are further designed for single-attribute and multi-attribute spatial categorical datasets. Extensive experimental evaluations on both simulated and real datasets demonstrated the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposed approaches. [Termes IGN] varianceRésumé : (Auteur) The concept of outlier detection by statistical hypothesis testing in geodesy is briefly reviewed. The performance of such tests can only be measured or optimized with respect to a proper alternative hypothesis. Firstly, we discuss the important question whether gross errors should be treated as non-random quantities or as random variables. In the first case, the alternative hypothesis must be based on the common mean shift model, while in the second case, the variance inflation model is appropriate. Secondly, we review possible formulations of alternative hypotheses (inherent, deterministic, slippage, mixture) and discuss their implications. As measures of optimality of an outlier detection, we propose the premium and protection, which are briefly reviewed. Finally, we work out a practical example: the fit of a straight line. It demonstrates the impact of the choice of an alternative hypothesis for outlier detection. The uniformly most powerful invariant test statistics for spikes and slips are derived and their detection capabilities are described by means of minimal detectable biases (MDBs). Analytical closed-form expressions of the phase-slip, code-outlier and ionospheric-disturbance MDBs are given, thus providing insight into the various factors that contribute to the detection capabilities of the various test statistics. This is also done for the phaseless and codeless cases, as well as for the case of a temporary loss-of-lock on all frequencies. The analytical analysis presented is supported by means of numerical results.
