[Termes IGN] triangulation de DelaunayRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, an advanced technique for the generation of deformation maps using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data is presented. The algorithm estimates the linear and non-linear components of the displacement, the error of the digital elevation model (DEM) used to cancel the topographic terms, and the atmospheric artefacts from a reduced set of low spatial resolution interferograms. The pixel candidates are selected from those presenting a good coherence level in the whole set of interferograms and the resulting non-uniform mesh tessellated with the Delauney triangulation to establish connections among them. The linear component of movement and DEM error are estimated adjusting a linear model to the data only on the connections. Later on, this information, once unwrapped to retrieve the absolute values, is used to calculate the non-linear component of movement and atmospheric artefacts with alternate filtering techniques in both temporal and spatial domains. The method presents high flexibility with respect the required number of images and the baselines length. However, better results are obtained with large datasets of short baseline interferograms. The technique has been tested with European Remote Sensing SAR data from an area of Catalonia (Spain) and validated with on-field precise levelling measurements. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (Auteur) GIS applications have recently begun to emerge on the Internet. The management of threedimensional geographic datasets in this distributed environment poses a particularly challenging problem, which highlights the need for a good data representation. This paper presents a new multiresolution data representation: the Wavelet Triangulated Irregular Network (WTIN). Compared to the traditional cellbased Digital Elevation Model (DEM) format and the Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) format, it is more compact and suitable for scalable distributed GIS services. This format is based on the second generation wavelet theory and is specially designed for geographical height field data. The modified Butterfly scheme is used for constructing the wavelet transform. For every point in the geographic surface, only a single wavelet coefficient is used, which makes the final data representation very efficient and easy to compress. Because the transform used in the data representation is a linear filter operation, the computational efficiency is better than other multiresolution data formats for terrain surfaces. Results from numerical experiments on real data are given to demonstrate that the proposed data representation can be efficiently implemented. The results show that the proposed WTIN data format can provide multiresolution data sets, which achieve significant compression while preserving geographical features. The quality is found to be quite acceptable for geographical terrain representation. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (Auteur) This paper deals with the enrichment of Triangulated Irregular Networks (TIN) with linear vector data such as roads, orography and hydrology, or with surfacic vector data such as buildings and lakes. On the real ground, these features locally modify the relief intensively. We want to integrate these micro-reliefs in the TIN. In particular, this is the case of roads, frequently made with excavation/embankment, or dikes. Moreover, some of these objects follow physical rules. Our aim is to rectify the TIN on the basis of such rules. We know, for example, that rivers always flow in talwegs and always downhill. Simply placing vector geographical objects on a TIN generally gives unrealistic results. For example, we can often see rivers running uphill because of bad integration. Our aim is to integrate 3D geographical objects in a TIN in order to compute an accurate TIN, ressembling ground reality as much as possible. [Termes IGN] visualisationRésumé : (Auteur) We present a multiresolution model for terrain surfaces which is able to handle large-scale global topographic. It is based on a hierarchical decomposition of the sphere by a recursive bisection triangulation in geographic coordinates. Error indicators allow the representation of the data at various levels of detail and enable data compression by local omission of data values. The resulting adaptive hierarchical triangulation is stored using a bit code of the underlying binary tree and additionally, relative pointers which allow a selective tree traversal. This way, it is possible to work directly on the compressed data. We show that significant compression rates can be obtained already for small threshold values. In a visualization application, adaptive triangulations which consist of hundreds of thousands of shaded triangles are extracted and drawn at interactive rates.
