[Termes IGN] triangulation de DelaunayRésumé : (Auteur) This paper introduces a new method for bluffline extraction based on analysis of surface normal vectors derived from a 2.5-dimensional Delaunay triangulation network generated using a set of LiDAR points. The developed method has been implemented and tested for the extraction of blufflines in a section of the Lake Erie coastline near Painesville, Ohio. Comparison of the research results with those generated by a method for bluffline extraction based on slope information along elevation profiles on transects shows an improvement in both horizontal and vertical accuracies in situations where the bluff has a relatively sharp edge formation. [Termes IGN] Triangulated Irregular NetworkRésumé : (Auteur) Progressive TIN densification (PTD) is one of the classic methods for filtering airborne LiDAR point clouds. However, it may fail to preserve ground measurements in areas with steep terrain. A method is proposed to improve the PTD using a point cloud segmentation method, namely segmentation using smoothness constraint (SUSC). The classic PTD has two core steps. The first is selecting seed points and constructing the initial TIN. The second is an iterative densification of the TIN. Our main improvement is embedding the SUSC between these two steps. Specifically, after selecting the lowest points in each grid cell as initial ground seed points, SUSC is employed to expand the set of ground seed points as many as possible, as this can identify more ground seed points for the subsequent densification of the TIN-based terrain model. Seven datasets of ISPRS Working Group III/3 are utilized to test our proposed algorithm and the classic PTD. Experimental results suggest that, compared with the PTD, the proposed method is capable of preserving discontinuities of landscapes and reducing the omission errors and total errors by approximately 10% and 6% respectively, which would significantly decrease the cost of the manual operation required for correcting the result in post-processing. [Termes IGN] triangulation de DelaunayRésumé : (Auteur) This paper offers a methodology for the semi-automatic extraction of control points for phototriangulation by using laser intensity images. The control points are determined by the intersection of three or more plane features which make up the roof of houses or building or constructions in general. The features under study are selected visually in aerial photos of constructions in which there are three or more sloped roofs presenting concurrent plane features. These constructions are identified in laser intensity image, and the plane features which define their roofs are extracted and individually adjusted from a group of points which result from the survey undertaken with airborne laser scanner. Control points are determined through the intersection of roof planes of each construction previously adjusted. By using this technique, it is possible to use the points obtained from plane feature intersection in a computational routine, thus replacing the ones obtained in the field. The airborne points were processed in a semi-automated way to rebuild the plane features of building roofs. Thus, they were identified in laser intensity image and extracted from Delaunay's triangulation. Finally, the analysis of normal vectors of the generated triangulation is realized. The methodology was tested by phototriangulation with bundle adjustment and supported by the points obtained from laser scanner and by checking points the ones pre-signalized and which where obtained from the field with GPS help. A photogrammetric block formed by six aerial photos obtained by non-metric digital camera was used for tests. The results were analysed and compared, and the methodology used was recommended.
